Actress Julianne Moore announced a new gun control campaign, despite the fact that she has used guns numerous times in movies.
Moore, with the help of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety, is launching the “Everytown Creative Council” to lobby for taking away gun rights.
“As actors, we are citizens first so we believe in the Constitution and the Second Amendment,” Moore told People magazine. “But 92 percent of the people in the United States are in favor of background checks, too, so I don’t feel like I’m in the minority. I definitely feel like I’m in the majority here.”
Moore then made a ridiculous comparison between car safety laws and gun control.
“For cars, you have to have training and you have to have a license, and you wear seat belts and we have airbags and we have all of these things in place that have reduced fatalities unbelievably,” Moore said. “And it was a totally unregulated industry at first. I feel like something that is very sensible and straight forward can be done also with guns.”

Then she claimed that the Founding Fathers would have supported her.
“I feel like with gun safety, there have been many people who feel threatened by saying something but I don’t think I’m saying anything that’s unreasonable,” Moore said. “With all of these rights that we have in our Constitution come a great deal of responsibility, and I think the founding fathers would agree with me.”
So far, 80 Hollywood actors and actresses have joined Everytown Creative Council.
If Moore were to practice what she preaches, then her argument might be worth addressing. But like most people on the left, Moore is a hypocrite, as evidenced by Moore’s use of guns in some of her movies. Here are some very noteworthy examples.

If Moore really wants to promote gun control, she should start by stopping the use of guns in her own movies. But, of course, that wouldn’t make for good theater, right?
