Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West and his new flame, Julia Fox, have been making headlines for weeks but mostly because of his famous estranged wife, Kim Kardashian. The reality star also has a romance heating up with “SNL” comedian Pete Davidson. This technically-still-married couple has moved on and are both very publicly showing it off.
And fans are coming after Davidson for obvious reasons, questioning how such a goofy celeb can consistently keep dating some of the most gorgeous women in Hollywood. But followers are also skeptical of Ye’s new love interest and wonder if the actress could be seeking a payday by hooking up with the billionaire rapper.
Fox fired back at critics during a recent episode of her podcast, “Forbidden Fruits.”
The “Uncut Gems” star addressed the claims head-on, saying, “People are like ‘Oh, you’re only in it for the fame, you’re in it for the clout, you’re in it for the money.’ Honey, I’ve dated billionaires my entire adult life, let’s keep it real.”
Ye’s current net worth is around $1.8 billion, but the actress insists that has nothing to do with her attraction to the “Donda” artist.
“It’s funny cause I’m getting all of this attention, but I really couldn’t care,” Fox continued. She also cited her goals as being art creation and “putting things into the world.”
“Watch my movie, read my book. That is more thrilling to me now than eyes on me. I couldn’t care less,” she insisted.
Fox and Ye only just began their relationship, but the actress is already speaking of the rap artist in glowing terms. In a conversation with Interview magazine, Fox explained how her new relationship was positively impacting her life.
“After meeting him, a couple days later, all my s*** was in boxes, gone,” she told the publication. “It was so cathartic. It wasn’t like I was just packing up my old clothes, it was like I was packing up my old life.”
“For someone like me who’s such a control freak and always so used to taking care of myself, to just let go and be taken care of is foreign at this point in life,” Fox continued. “It was the most instant natural organic attraction and connection. I just feel really safe with him. It’s a redemption story.”
Previously, Fox was married to Peter Artemiev, a Brooklyn-based private pilot who is of Russian descent, according to The Sun. Artemiev has no social media, so not much is known about him, but he is not believed to be one of the billionaires the actress referred to on her podcast.
The pair tied the knot in 2018 after one month of dating. Fox confirmed their split in 2020, telling GQ, “We’re friendly, but we’re not together. He’s still my friend. I’m sure he would like it to be more, but it’s not happening.”
The pair share a one-year-old son, Valentino, together. The “Uncut Gems” star made headlines last Christmas when she accused her ex of being a “deadbeat dad.” She later apologized for saying so.
