<p>The federal judge who upheld the injunction blocking the Trump administration’s expedited removal of alleged Tren de Aragua gang members has a history of partisan political activity, both donating to and volunteering for Barack Obama&#8217;s presidential campaign.</p>
<p>United States Circuit Judge Patricia Millett has <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/03/26/venezuela-deportation-case-temporary-block">maintained</a> the injunction against President Donald Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act, preventing the president from using the law to expedite the deportation of alleged criminal Venezuelan illegal aliens connected to Tren de Aragua, a foreign terror organization. The Trump administration is now <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/03/28/trump-supreme-court-venezuelans-deportation-gang/82504401007/">asking</a> the Supreme Court to decide on the case.</p>
<p>Federal Election Commission filings <a href="https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/individual-contributions/?amp%3Bcontributor_employer=Akin+Gump&amp;contributor_name=Patricia+Millett&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2008&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2010&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2012">indicate</a> that Millett was a prolific donor to Democrats, including Obama, from 2008 to 2012. Millett gave more than $31,000 to Democrat politicians and the party itself, supporting Obama’s presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton’s run in 2008, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, the Democratic National Committee, and the Fairfax County Democratic Committee, among others.</p>
<p>Millett — who <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/judge-claims-nazis-got-better-treatment-than-venezuelans-deported-trump">charged</a> that “Nazis got better treatment&#8221; than deported illegal aliens — also volunteered for Obama’s 2008 campaign, noting in a Judiciary Committee <a href="https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Patricia-Millett-Senate-Questionnaire-Final.pdf">questionnaire</a> that she provided the campaign with “legal assistance to the Voter Protection Teams for Ohio and New Hampshire, including preparing for potential election challenges.”</p>
<p>Millett’s appointment was <a href="https://civilrightsdocs.info/pdf/policy/letters/Support_Patricia_Millett_letter_7_9_13.pdf">supported</a> by the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a left-wing organization that <a href="https://civilrights.org/value/immigrant-rights/">supports amnesty</a> for illegal aliens, <a href="https://civilrights.org/value/policing/">called</a> America’s public safety system, “at odds with our shared values of fairness, equity, and justice,” and <a href="https://civilrights.org/value/deia/">advocates</a> in favor of the diversity, equity, and inclusion movement.</p>
<p>Millett’s ruling upholds the injunction issued by United States District Court Judge James Boasberg, another Obama appointee. Boasberg has a history of stonewalling Trump’s efforts while his wife has engaged in overtly partisan activity, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meet-the-obama-appointed-judge-trying-to-stop-trump-from-deporting-criminal-illegals">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Boasberg issued a ruling in 2018 that limited the administration’s ability to detain migrant families who had entered the country, hindering Trump’s attempt to disincentivize illegal immigration by limiting the issuance of parole.</p>
<p>The Obama-appointed judge also granted leniency to the only official charged in connection with the Russiagate hoax, refusing to sentence him to prison.</p>
<p>Boasberg’s wife, Elizabeth Manson, has donated more than $11,000 to Democratic candidates and committees, including to Hillary for America when she faced off against Trump in 2016. She&#8217;s also the founder of a DC-area abortion clinic.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
