Popular Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson on “The Joe Rogan Experience” said this week that he predicted the targeting of “thousands of young girls” the moment “fundamental sex categories” were “messed with.”
“I knew full well as a clinician that as soon as we messed with fundamental sex categories, and changed the terminology, we would fatally confuse thousands of young girls,” Peterson told host Joe Rogan, speaking of “rapid onset gender dysphoria amongst women.”
“I knew that,” Peterson added. “Because I knew the literature on psychological contagion, and it stretches back like … 300 years. Psychological contagions are very common.”
“I knew a kid in Toronto, who was on the autistic spectrum — and a lot of the people who are manifesting serious issues with gender identity are on the autistic spectrum,” the bestselling author added.

Continuing to discuss gender, Peterson targeted gender stereotypes and transgenderism.
“The most reliable difference that physiologists have ever found between men and women — the biggest difference — is interest. Women are reliably more interested in people, and men are reliably more interested in things,” he explained, noting that there is of course “overlap.”
Giving an example of an outlier, or overlap, Peterson noted: “I’m a man who’s more interested in people than things. That’s why I’m a psychologist. I actually have a relatively feminine personality structure because I’m pretty high in negative emotion, and I’m pretty high in agreeableness. And that’s the typical feminine structure.”
The “12 Simple Rules” author then explained how breaking these generally true stereotypes doesn’t make one transgender, or a “woman born in a man’s body.”
“We have this idea in our culture that you can be a woman born in a man’s body,” he said. “And that’s not true. But you can definitely be a man with a feminine personality structure.”
When men are feminine, or women are masculine, “that doesn’t mean they’re in the wrong body,” he asserted. “It just means that men and women are more alike than different.”

During the same podcast episode, Peterson discussed the Bible, and how he recently realized that it is the basis of “truth” and “agreement.”
“If categories just dissolve, especially fundamental ones, the culture is dissolving, because the culture is a structure of category. That’s what it is,” Peterson said, The Daily Wire reported. “So and in fact, culture is a structure of category that we all share. So we see things the same way. But that’s why we can talk, I mean, not exactly the same way, because then we have nothing to talk about, but, roughly speaking, we have a bedrock of agreement. That’s the Bible, by the way.”
