<p>Jessica Simpson definitely got everyone&#8217;s attention as she celebrated a huge weight-loss milestone, sharing just how much weight she has gained and since lost over the last several years.</p>
<p>The 41-year-old singer and actress couldn&#8217;t have looked more excited in the photo she shared with her millions of followers on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CcERpb2uQqO/">Instagram</a> Thursday showing her wearing a fun two-piece swimsuit and sunglasses.</p>
<p>She didn&#8217;t explain a whole lot about where the photo was taken and simply captioned her post, &#8220;I have gained and lost 100lbs 3x so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I&#8217;m finally spring breakin&#8217; wearin&#8217; a BIKINI!!!!!!&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Hard work,&#8221; she added. &#8220;Determination, Self Love. I enjoyed a good proud cry today.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;Today my heart breaks because people say I&#8217;m fat,&#8221; one entry read, <a href="https://people.com/health/jessica-simpson-says-she-has-every-size-of-jeans-doesnt-let-scale-number-define-weight-loss/">reported</a> People magazine in 2021 about an incident in 2009. &#8220;Why does the cruel opinion of this world get to me?&#8221;</p>
<p>In another entry noted by the <a href="https://people.com/books/jessica-simpson-open-book-memoir-revelations/?slide=7632056#7632056">magazine</a>, Jessica talked about how she &#8220;no longer trusted the mirror.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;With every reflection, every single pane of glass I passed, I took myself in quickly to try to catch myself, to see what the world apparently saw.&#8221;</p>
<p>When later asked about that entry, the mom of three kids with husband Eric Johnson, told &#8220;Today&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/TODAYshow/status/1387752787891589121?s=20&amp;t=SqaTuzhCEGItqVaGEqEIVA">show</a> host Hoda Kotb that being open about her own struggles has helped open the conversation of body image.</p>
<p>&#8220;There is a wonderful movement for body positivity now and the response to that portion of my story has been overwhelmingly supportive,&#8221; Jessica shared.  &#8220;I don&#8217;t think people always realized that there was a human being, a beating heart and working eyes with actual feelings behind those headlines and that words can hurt and stay with you for a lifetime.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The Dukes of Hazzard&#8221; star last talked about her weight loss journey in September 2019 when she posted on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B2zTMbUA0YO/">social media</a> about losing 100 pounds after giving birth to her daughter, Birdie, <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/jessica-simpson-celebrates-weight-loss-milestone-155706295.html">reported</a> Yahoo.com.</p>
<p>&#8220;6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240),&#8221; the singer captioned her post. &#8220;My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE and emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again. Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder.&#8221;</p>
<p>In November 2021, the &#8220;Sweetest Sin&#8221; hitmaker celebrated her four years of sobriety with an image she posted on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CVvfEL1rRIV/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=f814889f-2e06-477d-827f-ef99d31b4438">Instagram,</a> the day she said she would allow herself &#8220;to take back&#8221; her light.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself,&#8221; she captioned the post. &#8220;I had so much self discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor. I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward- never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for the rest of my time here within this beautiful world.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I can&#8217;t believe it has been 4yrs!&#8221; Simpson continued. &#8220;It feels like maybe 2. I think that is a good thing. Ha. There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic. The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self sabotage. The drinking wasn&#8217;t the issue. I was. I didn&#8217;t love myself. I didn&#8217;t respect my own power. Today I do. I have made nice with the fears and I have accepted the parts of my life that are just sad. I own my personal power with soulful courage. I am wildly honest and comfortably open. I am free.&#8221;</p>
