Actress Jennifer Lawrence recently opened up about trying out for the female lead in “Twilight,” and made it clear she’s glad she didn’t get it.

During the 32-year-old actress’ appearance on “The Rewatchables podcast with Bill Simmons,” Lawrence said she auditioned for Bella Swan and “immediately” got turned down, noting how different her life would’ve been if she had.

The actress said she didn’t get a callback for the role that ended up going to Kristen Stewart. However, a year later, she got the part of Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games,” a role that made her a worldwide celebrity.

“My life would’ve been totally different,” Lawrence said. “I mean, the work is still the same because I felt similar when I was doing ‘Hunger Games.'”

“I have to churn out movies in between so that I’m not only known for this franchise,” she added. “I was still in a franchise, so I was still trying to counteract the franchise-ness, and I would still be doing that if I was in Twilight.”

The “Silver Linings Playbook” star admitted she almost didn’t take the Katniss role because she feared the fandom connected to such a massive franchise.

“It was so hard to explain to people,” Lawrence said. “It was like I don’t think you understand this level of fame … I just assumed it was gonna be like ‘Twilight,’ like the Twilight-level fame, and that was just never something I had in mind.”

“I wanted to do indies, and I wanted to do good films, but I didn’t want to be the most famous person on the planet,” she added, noting she would have been “miserable” if she had gotten “Twilight.” “That’s a very different life than what I had pictured for myself.”

Fans of the dystopian “Hunger Games” franchise will soon get to see the backstory of how Coriolanus Snow becomes the tyrannical evil president of Panem when “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes hits the big screen in November. It is set decades before Lawrence’s character faced off with Snow in the hit movie franchise.

The actress recently revealed that she’d definitely be interested in reprising the role should the opportunity arise.

“Oh, my God – totally!” Lawrence told Variety. “If Katniss ever could ever come back into my life, 100 percent.”
