A-list starlet Jennifer Lawrence, now best known for starring in her ex-boyfriend Darren Aronofsky’s bizarre and horrifying film, “mother!” says she’s taking a hiatus from acting after finishing her latest movie, “Red Sparrow,” so that she can single-handedly save our democracy from Donald Trump.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, J-Law says she’ll be working with an organization that tackles “anti-corruption and stuff” while she takes a breather from her day job.
“I’m going to be working with this organization as a part of (anti-corruption organization) Represent.US… trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level,” the actress said. “It doesn’t have anything to do with partisan stuff. It’s just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy.”
Most likely, Lawrence will be working with Represent.US, an “anti-corruption” organization that seeks to “get money out of politics,” because every issue they “care about is blocked or skewed by our rigged political system.” Lawrence has made appearances on behalf of Represent.US before, pushing their “Anti-Corruption Act” to “end secret money” and “stop political bribery.”
It likely will not come as a shock that Represent.US is heavily funded by far-left donors like the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the George Soros-sponsored TIDES foundation, neither of which are particularly interested in getting money out of politics — both pump millions (if not tens of millions) into various Democratic campaigns and “progressive policy initiatives” — unless that money sponsors Republican candidates and conservative policies, of course.
Of course, Jennifer Lawrence is going to change the world. “My political passion has almost turned into an obsession. I mean, I don’t think you ever do feel settled, (but) as soon as you feel settled with your home and your personal life, you’re looking at the world and going, ‘How in the hell do I fix this? What do we do?'” she told reporters.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, it seems Lawrence’s hiatus from acting won’t be all that long. “Quitting acting,” to her means “taking a year off,” which is, at most, two movies we won’t have to see her in.
