Jada Pinkett Smith has remained pretty quiet on social media following the shocking 2022 Academy Awards when her husband, Will Smith, slapped comedian Chris Rock for mocking Jada’s bald head.

However, Jada took a break from lying low to celebrate the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court this week. The “Matrix Resurrections” alum shared three images of Jackson along with the caption, “She did it! Congrats #ketanjibrownjackson.”

One of the images celebrated President Joe Biden’s promise to nominate a black woman for the job. “Ketanji Brown Jackson is confirmed as the first Black woman and the first former public defender to serve on the Supreme Court!” the image caption says.

The celebratory post was only the second time Jada posted anything since the slap. On March 29, the 50-year-old star shared a quote that said, “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.” Jada didn’t specifically mention the Oscars, but followers seemed to believe she was alluding to moving past the incident.

Sources close to the couple told tabloids that Jada isn’t necessarily thrilled with what happened.

“She’s not one of these women that needs protecting. He didn’t need to do what he did, she didn’t need protecting. She’s not a wallflower,” the source said, according to US Weekly. “She’s a strong woman, an opinionated woman and she can fight her own battles. But she will stand by him.”

Meanwhile, Will has already apologized for overreacting to the joke. “I would also like to apologize to The Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us,” the “Men In Black” star shared on his Instagram.

Most viewers blame Will for what happened, but a decent number of people lay some of the blame at Jada’s feet. They notice how in some of the video footage from the Academy Awards, Will can be seen laughing at Rock’s joke right up until he sees Jada’s angry face, which leads to him marching up on stage and slapping the comedian.

There’s also a video circulating that shows Jada laughing after the slap happens. As The Daily Wire originally reported, actor and anti-Trump activist Michael Rapaport criticized Jada for not protecting her husband or at least admonishing him for his actions on national television.

“People saying Will Smith was protecting Jada, Why wasn’t JADA protecting Will from literally ruining his entire career?” he posted to Twitter. “My Wife would’ve been fighting me before I sat down for making an a**hole of myself & our family.”

It doesn’t seem like Jada is going to say anything about the slap publicly for now. But the appointment of Brown was enough for the “Bad Moms” star to speak up.
