Kim Kardashian turned being self-absorbed into a billion-dollar career. The most notorious and successful reality star ever didn’t become famous through the regular channels. Instead, the voluptuous mom of four turned her image into a brand and turned her brand into an empire.
Fans got behind West’s marriage to Kanye West and saw them as the ultimate Hollywood power couple. The pair split in 2021 and based on some very public disputes, a reconciliation seems more unlikely with each passing day. West recently said he wants to get back together. But Kardashian put her feelings into words as part of an interview for the newest issue of Vogue.
The SKIMS founder shares four young children with her ex. However, Kardashian is not planning to remain married for the sake of the kids as so many couples do.
“For so long, I did what made other people happy,” the 41-year-old reality star told Vogue. “And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good.”
“And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I’ve chosen myself,” the star continued. “I think it’s okay to choose you.”
Kardashian went on to describe all the ways she’s planning to focus on her self during the coming years.
“My 40s are about being Team Me. I’m going to eat well. I’m going to work out. I’m going to have more fun, spend more time with my kids and the people who make me happy. I’m going to put my phone down. Unfollow if I don’t want to see something on Instagram. Khloé came up with the best phrase for that yesterday. She said, ‘Post and ghost.’”
Currently, Kardashian boasts one of the top 10 most popular Instagram accounts in the world with 285 million followers. This is another revenue stream for the star, who is poised to make insane amounts of money for a single sponsored post. She also uses social media to promote her own brands, including SKIMS and her makeup brand, which was formerly called KKW and is in the process of rebranding.
The Vogue interviewer mentioned how Kardashian’s kids are all vying for her attention, mentioning that at one point during the interview, which happened in the evening, North contacted her mom using her phone, asking to be put to bed.
Kim’s a busy working mom who is now navigating co-parenting with West.
The rapper responded to Kardashian’s Vogue cover story almost immediately. Shortly after the interview was published, West shared photos to Instagram of his ex and four kids that were used in the magazine spread. He added the caption, “GOD PLEASE BRING OUR FAMILY BACK TOGETHER.”
Meanwhile, West and Kardashian got into a public battle earlier this month over their 8-year-old being on TikTok. West has since deleted all his posts on the issue.
