Doja Cat piqued her fans’ attention when she shared that she’s “quitting the vape” after she had to undergo throat surgery and have her left tonsil cut into, saying it’s simply “not worth it.”

In a whole host of tweets Thursday, the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, told her followers the gruesome details about why she had to have the surgery. She added that she’s really hoping she doesn’t “crave it anymore after that,” saying the idea of going without it forever “instills panic,” Yahoo reported on Friday.

“Dr. just had to cut into my left tonsil,” Doja tweeted to her five millions of followers. “I had an abscess in it. My whole throat is f***ed, so I might have some bad news for y’all coming soon.” The tweets in their entirety can be read here.

“I was taking f***in[g] antibiotics but forgot that I was taking them and then I drank wine and was vaping all day long and then I started getting a nasty ass growth on my tonsil so they had to do surgery on it today,” she added, referencing images of her drinking and vaping before taking the stage at the Billboard Music Awards to get her award.

The superstar rapper then shared graphic details about the procedure before saying, “I cried and it hurt a lot but [I’m] ok.”

She continued to give more details about the surgery and admitted to one fan that she’s going to “try and get” the tonsils “removed for sure very soon.”

“I’m quitting the vape for a while and hopefully I don’t crave it anymore after that,” the “Woman” hitmaker shared, adding that she’s “too scared to hit” the vape “cuz my throat hurts so bad.”

“I cried for hours,” the rapper added. “It’s not worth it. Then it’s like imagine all that weird poisonous s*** in the vape seeping into the completely open wound in my throat. Like f*** that. I’m hella young.”

When one fan said she should just throw her vapes away, the rapper admitted that doing so “just instills panic.”

“I’m addicted but I’m not weak,” Doja Cat said. “I was literally staring at my vape today that normally I’d hit a thousand times a day and hit it two times instead. I’m [gonna] try to go cold turkey for now but hopefully my brain doesn’t need it at all by then.”
