Martha Stewart said getting older for her isn’t “about dying” and has rejected the usual concerns about “aging” as she explained that instead, she’s just “living” life to the “absolute fullest” after she recently celebrated another trip around the sun.

During an interview for AARP magazine’s 65th anniversary bonus issue, the 82-year-old lifestyle entrepreneur opened up about getting older and made it clear worrying about retiring or slowing down isn’t something she thinks about.

“Aging isn’t something I think about,” Stewart said. “How old I am, slowing down, retiring — I just don’t dwell on that. People talk about aging successfully, but I think of it as living gracefully and living to the absolute fullest.”

“I’m about trying new things and learning new things every single day,” she added. “Staying fresh, being interesting and interested. Staying curious, staying busy, developing new friendships.”

The “Martha Stewart Living” founder also talked about how she feels like she’s one of the lucky ones because she hasn’t had any health problems and doesn’t even take medications or need to deal with blood pressure issues.

“And at age 77, I stopped wearing glasses after wearing corrective lenses from the time I was 16,” Stewart said. “I’m not bragging about it. Something weird happened. I got an infection in my eyes, and my doctor gave me steroids for it, and the result was 20/20 vision. They call it second sight. I’m pretty fortunate.”

Despite her workout routine, the TV personality said she doesn’t shy away from having fun like traveling, hiking etc., and said she works “hard every day on things that challenge me and invigorate me.”

“The idea is that aging is not about dying; it’s about living well,” she added. “Because people are aging so differently now. The average life span has increased. By 2034, there will be more people over 65 than under 18.”

On top of her usual schedule, Stewart said she’s writing an autobiography, working on a documentary about her life, and her 100th recipe book, Fox News noted.

“These are big, difficult, years-long projects, but I don’t want to have regrets, or ‘would’ve, could’ve, should’ve,’ which is a horrible feeling,” Martha told the outlet.

And as far as her legacy, Stewart said she’ll be happy if in 100 years someone asks another person, “Did you make Martha’s apple pie? Because it really is the best recipe.”
