Sen. Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD) tried to trip up Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his testimony on Wednesday, but instead exposed herself to be wildly unfamiliar with Kennedy&#8217;s department.
While Kennedy was trying to respond to Alsobrooks&#8217; confusing questions about his sprawling department, she suggested to the secretary that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is not part of his department, which, of course, is false, since HHS does oversee NIH.
&#8220;It&#8217;s assistive reproductive technology, it&#8217;s a division. Do you know what it does?&#8221; Alsobrooks asked Kennedy.
The secretary asked what she&#8217;s specifically talking about is part of NIH, since, when he took over as secretary, there were dozens of offices for reproductive health, which Kennedy is in the process of organizing and consolidating.
&#8220;No, it&#8217;s actually part of your agency,&#8221; Alsobrooks responded.
&#8220;NIH is part of my agency,&#8221; RFK shot back. &#8220;Senator, you should know that.&#8221;
&#8220;I do know that,&#8221; the senator suggested. &#8220;It&#8217;s actually, the CDC is where is it.&#8221;
Astonishingly, Alsobrooks then told RFK that he was &#8220;unfamiliar with the programs&#8221; in his department.
&#8220;You&#8217;re unfamiliar with my agency,&#8221; a fiery Kennedy reacted. &#8220;The NIH and the CDC are part of HHS.&#8221;

“We had nine separate offices of women’s health,” RFK explained. “When we consolidate them, Democrats say that we’re eliminating them. We’re not, we’re still appropriating the $3.7 billion, but we’re not keeping all nine. We had eight separate offices for minority health, we eliminated one. We had 27 HIV offices, we had 59 behavioral health programs.”

Dem Senator Tries To Trip Up RFK Jr. At Hearing. It Ends Very Poorly For Her.

Several protesters were tackled and arrested by Capitol Police on Wednesday, after they screamed and interrupted testimony from Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. before the Senate Health Committee.
Among the protesters who were arrested was Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s co-founder Ben Cohen. It&#8217;s unclear what he was protesting regarding Kennedy, but other protesters had signs that called RFK &#8220;anti-vaccine&#8221; or said, &#8220;RFK Lies, People with AIDS Die.&#8221;

As video footage below shows, Kennedy and others in the room were startled when the protesters screamed to interrupt the secretary&#8217;s opening statement. Some are heard yelling, &#8220;RFK kills people with hate!&#8221; Quickly, Capitol Police stepped in to remove the protesters, some by force.

Cohen was arrested for obstruction, according to authorities, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/watch-rfk-jr-senate-hearing-disrupted-screaming-protesters-rfk-kills-people-hate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Wednesday. Six others were arrested, as well.

Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sparred with a number of Democrats on Wednesday while he testified before the House committee on appropriations.
Kennedy called out Democrats for echoing party talking points and for engaging in what he viewed as the politicization of public health.
In one instance, RFK took on Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) over budget cuts and other health initiatives.

Kennedy name-checked DeLauro later in the hearing, too, this time for what he viewed as her partisan behavior over health, specifically children&#8217;s health.
&#8220;Congresswoman DeLauro, you say that you’ve worked for 20 years on getting food dye out,&#8221; the secretary said. &#8220;Give me credit, I got it out in 100 days!&#8221;
Kennedy notably announced the phasing out of petroleum-based dyes last month. Already, major food companies have committed to making the changes before the end of 2026, which was the secretary&#8217;s goal.

Kennedy also took on Rep. Josh Harder (D-CA), whom RFK said was echoing Democrat talking points about HHS cuts.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t know if you understand this, or whether you&#8217;re just mouthing the Democratic talking points. Cuts to Medicaid are for fraud, waste, and abuse,&#8221; Kennedy told the congressman.
&#8220;There&#8217;s a million people who are claiming Medicaid from multiple states. That&#8217;s illegal. It&#8217;s theft. You&#8217;re not allowed to do that,&#8221; he continued.
&#8220;There are another million people who are collecting both Medicaid and Obamacare,&#8221; Kennedy said, before noting that the federal government will also no longer pay Medicaid for illegal immigrants.

Sparks Fly At Hearing As RFK Jr. Takes On Dems For Playing Politics With Health

A high school English teacher in Maine appears to still have her job after she called for the assassination of President Donald Trump and his supporters and close advisors.
Waterville Senior High School teacher JoAnna St. Germain posted to her Facebook late last month that the Secret Service and U.S. military need to step in to murder Trump and his supporters, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/f-fascism-maine-teacher-calls-for-murder-of-trump-supporters-top-officials-in-unhinged-rants?author=Amanda+Prestigiacomo&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=10&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=‘F***+Fascism’%3A+Maine+Teacher+Calls+For+Murder+Of+Trump+Supporters%2C+Top+Officials+In+Unhinged+Rants" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire chronicled here</a>. The teacher&#8217;s threatening comments sparked an investigation by law enforcement, according to local reports.
St. Germain&#8217;s posts have since been wiped from her Facebook page, but her name still appears on the Waterville Senior High School staff directory, listing her as an English teacher.

The Daily Wire reached out to Principal Dr. Brian Laramee for clarification on St. Germain&#8217;s current employment status, but has not received a response.
Additionally, a parent of a student at Waterville reportedly recorded a conversation with staff at the school who allegedly said St. Germain had not been fired and is welcome to teach, though she has not been back to the school since calling for the murders. The Maine Wire <a href="https://www.themainewire.com/2025/05/waterville-teacher-who-drew-intl-attention-for-calling-for-assassinations-apologizes-blames-trauma-and-insomnia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on the recorded conversation but has been unable to independently verify it, nor has The Daily Wire.
Before wiping her social media, St. Germain published a lengthy Facebook post addressing her comments. She said she made them mostly because she wasn&#8217;t sleeping and was not in the right headspace. St. Germain also blamed past trauma.
“I had a mental breakdown due to severe insomnia and the stress of trying to cope with trauma inflicted on me by a domestic abuser and rapist, but I have sought the help I needed and my brain is mine again,&#8221; the teacher said.
&#8220;I’ve been under the care of an incredible psychiatric team. They saw what was happening, and worked with me to help me get fully back to myself. Mostly what I needed was sleep,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;I hope you have no idea the psychosis lack of sleep brings.&#8221;
“I regret my words of violence towards the current administration,&#8221; St. Germain added. &#8220;That is not in my heart when my brain is well. I have never received so much as a speeding ticket, and I loathe guns and violence. I meet every individual with respect and an open mind when I am well. I have the most genuine remorse for making people feel unsafe.&#8221;
She also doubled down on her opposition to the Trump administration, writing, &#8220;I meant every word I said about the rise of fascism and the horror of trafficking humans to foreign prisons.&#8221;
“My heart breaks every day for the vulnerable populations being targeted and irreparably harmed,&#8221; St. Germain wrote. &#8220;I love you. If you hate me? I still love you.&#8221;

As reported by The Daily Wire, St. Germain&#8217;s past posts said that the U.S. Secret Service &#8220;has the perfect opportunity&#8221; to assassinate Trump.
&#8220;You are the ones with power. Coordinate,” she instructed. “Take out every single person who supports Trump’s illegal, immoral, unconstitutional acts. Look at the sycophants and give them what they’re asking for.”
“Secret Service, you are Americans. My beloved military, you are Americans. We, the people, are counting on you,” St. Germain added. “If I had the skill set required, I would take them out myself.”

That Teacher Who Called For Murder Of Trump Supporters? Here’s The Latest Update.

President Donald Trump on Monday morning signed an executive order to significantly reduce pharmaceutical drug prices for Americans.
The directive, Trump stressed, will bring fairness to Americans and cut out &#8220;the middlemen&#8221; to bring prices down so citizens will start to pay prices comparable to other developed nations.
&#8220;Starting today, the United States will no longer subsidize the drug prices of other countries,&#8221; the president said. &#8220;We&#8217;ve been subsidizing drug prices for the rest of the world, not just the European Union.&#8221;
By implementing a policy called &#8220;Most Favored Nation,” Trump said the U.S. is &#8220;gonna pay the lowest price there is in the world. We&#8217;re no longer paying ten times more than another country.&#8221;
Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was with Trump at a press conference on Monday morning, said that other nations, particularly those in the European Union, must chip in for research and development. Kennedy said raising their prices by just 20% would dramatically reduce costs in the United States.
Trump teased the executive order Sunday night on Truth Social, saying it would reduce prices by up to 80%.

During Trump&#8217;s first term, he introduced a regulation for certain cancer drugs and others to be the same price as they were abroad. The Biden administration, however, <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-says-he-will-sign-executive-order-aimed-at-lowering-drug-prices-2a5b9b28" target="_blank" rel="noopener">abandoned</a> the regulation after a court struck it down on procedural grounds.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt discussed the order on Monday, saying online that other presidents &#8220;merely talked about addressing this problem – but President Trump is taking bold action to finally solve it and deliver a good deal for American families and seniors.&#8221;

The order follows another directive signed by Trump on May 5, which seeks to reduce the regulatory burden on the domestic production of critical medicines.
&#8220;One key area of concern is the length of time it takes to build pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in the United States today,&#8221; the order <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/regulatory-relief-to-promote-domestic-production-of-critical-medicines/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reads</a>. &#8220;New construction must navigate myriad Federal, State, and local requirements ranging from building standards and zoning restrictions to environmental protocols that together diminish the certainty needed to generate investment for large manufacturing projects.&#8221;
The order notes that estimates suggest building new pharmaceutical manufacturing plants &#8220;may take as long as 5 to 10 years, which is unacceptable from a national security standpoint.&#8221;
Within 180 days, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will take action to &#8220;update regulations and guidance that apply to the inspection and approval of new and expanded manufacturing capacity of pharmaceutical products, active pharmaceutical ingredients, key starting materials, and associated raw materials in the United States to eliminate any duplicative or unnecessary requirements and maximize the timeliness and predictability of agency review,&#8221; the order notes.

Trump Signs Order To Reduce Drug Prices, Tells Rest Of World To Pay Up

Trump administration Border Czar Tom Homan on Saturday ripped Democrat Newark Mayor Ras Baraka for claiming he was supporting the rule of law when he trespassed at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility.
Baraka was arrested and briefly detained on Friday for &#8220;storming&#8221; the facility, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/newark-mayor-arrested-after-dem-reps-storm-new-jersey-ice-facility-charge-past-security-officers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> reported. The mayor and two other Democrats reportedly rushed into the center after gates were opened to allow a bus of apparent illegal criminals into the facility.
&#8220;We ask them to obey our laws, to obey the policies, the rules here, in the city and the state of New Jersey, not to run roughshod over the Constitution of the United States, the Bill of Rights, the 4th, 5th, the 14th Amendment, that everybody on this soil deserves due process,&#8221; Mayor Baraka said to the press on Friday.
&#8220;Well look, he&#8217;s not very smart,&#8221; Homan <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6372630115112" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reacted</a> on Fox News. &#8220;The bottom line is, that is what this facility is all about. This facility is about due process. This facility is where we put illegal aliens &#8230; this is where due process happens. We have to detain them to go through the due process of, sometimes seeing a judge,&#8221; or other processes, like sending them back to their country.
Homan went on to criticize the Democrats for rushing the facility and putting safety and security at risk for the public, illegal immigrants, and others. &#8220;You don&#8217;t make an unauthorized entry while they&#8217;re moving a bus of criminals into the facility,&#8221; he said.
The border czar said people don&#8217;t have to support ICE, but they can&#8217;t &#8220;cross that line.&#8221;
&#8220;You can&#8217;t cross that line of impediment, you can&#8217;t cross that line of knowingly harboring, concealing illegal aliens, and you certainly can&#8217;t trespass in a facility that&#8217;s contracted by the U.S. government to house criminals,&#8221; he said. &#8220;That&#8217;d be like breaking into a prison, not going through the proper protocols. This creates a huge safety crisis.&#8221;
&#8220;This is about politics&#8221; for those Democrats, Homan continued. &#8220;They simply don&#8217;t want these people removed from this country. They don&#8217;t want immigration enforcement in this country.&#8221;
As highlighted by The Daily Wire, Baraka is currently campaigning to be New Jersey’s next governor and has been protesting the ICE facility since it opened.
