Ilhan Omar Gives Hasan Piker Platform To Slap GOP With An All-Too-Familiar Label

This may be the first time that Hasan thinks that terrorists are the bad guys.

Left-wing radical streamer Hasan Piker called Republicans “the most un-American force in this country,” accusing them of being “terrorists” during a campaign event with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Monday.

Piker, a prominent Twitch socialist commentator who previously declared that America “deserved 9/11,” attacked Republicans over their efforts to enforce immigration law, arguing that migrants should not be considered a national security threat.

Piker is adding to a lengthy record of inflammatory remarks about the United States and statements defending designated terrorist organizations.

“Migrants are not a national security threat. They are our neighbors. They are our allies. They work alongside us,” Piker said. “They are not a burden but a benefit. They are what make this country strong, and they’re what make this country great.”

He then targeted Democrats who support tighter immigration enforcement before turning his vitriol toward Republicans.

“Any Democrat that refuses to recognize that, in my opinion, is un-American,” Piker said. “I’m not even going to bring up the Republicans because they are the most un-American force in this country. They’re terrorists. They are terrorizing our neighborhoods.”

Piker also accused Republicans of “destroying what remains of the social fabric that holds us together.”

The remarks came as Piker appeared alongside Omar at a campaign event in Minnesota. Omar also criticized Republicans, calling the party the “pedophile protection party,” according to Fox News.

Piker’s latest remarks fit into a broader pattern of rhetoric in which he has sharply condemned the United States while expressing support for militant groups fighting Israel and arguing that American foreign policy bears responsibility for terrorism.

In September, Piker told Axios that the United States had caused more deaths than al-Qaeda “pound for pound,” referring to the terrorist organization responsible for the September 11, 2001, attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people. He argued that U.S. actions abroad had caused “tremendous terror all around the world.”

Piker also made the now-infamous 2019 declaration that “America deserved 9/11.” Piker made the statement during a livestream while criticizing U.S. foreign policy and mocking Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), a Navy SEAL veteran who lost an eye in combat.

Piker subsequently called the remark inappropriate and said he had used imprecise language. He argued that he was referring to the consequences of American foreign policy, not claiming that the individual victims of the attacks deserved to die.

Piker has also made repeated statements in defense of designated terrorist organizations.

In an April interview with “Pod Save America,” Piker said he would vote for Hamas over Israel “every single time,” saying the comparison is a choice between what he considered the lesser of two evils. Hamas led the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel, in which terrorists killed over 1,200 civilians and took hundreds of hostages.

In a June 2025 podcast discussion, Piker called Hezbollah his favorite flag and praised its design. He had also previously said he had “no issue” with Hezbollah’s militancy against Israel and described the Houthis’ attacks as “resistance.” Hezbollah and the Houthis have both carried out attacks against U.S. interests or international targets, and Washington designates both organizations as terrorist groups.

His political activism has also brought him into contact with Democratic candidates. Piker campaigned for Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed during the state’s primary, prompting Republican nominee Mike Rogers to demand that El-Sayed condemn Piker’s comments about al-Qaeda and 9/11, which El-Sayed later did.

Piker also traveled to Cuba in March as part of the Nuestra América Convoy, a far-left activist initiative that sought to deliver humanitarian supplies to the communist-run island. Reports in May said the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control had sought information from Piker and CodePink co-founder Medea Benjamin about the trip as part of an inquiry into potential sanctions violations.

Piker has defended his right to criticize the United States, arguing that his commentary is protected political speech and reflects his belief that the country should adopt more socialist policies. During a September broadcast, he said it was his “God-given and constitutionally-protected right” to say he hates America.

The good news? The GOP can look forward to another voter this November, since Hasan Piker has never met a terrorist organization he doesn’t want to vote for.
