Podcast host and comedian Joe Rogan took to the stage Tuesday night to use comedy as a medium to poke fun at hysterical leftists who want him canceled for daring to asking questions about the coronavirus pandemic and the COVID-19 vaccine. Rogan reportedly made his jokes to an “intimate” audience in Texas, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Wednesday.

Rogan, who has previously had on controversial guests like Dr. Robert Malone who have expressed doubts as to the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine, reportedly poked fun at himself as potentially being the go-to-guy for medical advice:

“I talk sh** for a living — that’s why this is so baffling to me,” he said. “If you’re taking vaccine advice from me, is that really my fault? What dumb shit were you about to do when my stupid idea sounded better? ‘You know that dude who made people people (sic) eat animal dicks on TV? How does he feel about medicine?’ If you want my advice, don’t take my advice.”

Rogan has previously had experts on his show who support the vaccine as well. In 2021, Rogan grilled CNN’s medical expert Dr. Sanjay Gupta as to the need to vaccinate children, The Daily Wire previously reported:

“With a breakthrough infection, untreated, you’re probably more vulnerable than the average child, who is not vaccinated, who gets COVID,” Rogan told Gupta. “Like, people have died who are double vaccinated. In fact, there was a guy who just won an Emmy. The odds of that happening to a healthy child are very, very low.”

The former host of “Fear Factor” has maintained he is not an anti-vax individual, but he has questioned why a young, healthy, in-shape individual would need the COVID-19 vaccine.

Rogan has also mused that it would be best to get vaccinated, then get the virus naturally for a sort of super immunity, USA Today reported:

“It would be better to get the virus and recover and have amazing immunity,” Rogan said on the podcast. “You know what I think you should do? I think you should get vaccinated and then get sick. This is why: because then you got the vaccine protects you from a bad infection and then you get COVID so then you get the robust immunity that’s imparted from having the actual disease itself.”

That line of thinking has also been endorsed in some medical studies like one from Ohio State that reviewed the immune response from a vaccinated individual who then had a breakthrough case of COVID-19.

“You can’t get a better immune response than this,” Fikadu Tafesse, Ph.D., an assistant professor at the OHSU School of Medicine, said in a news release according to FOX 59. “These vaccines are very effective against severe disease. Our study suggests that individuals who are vaccinated and then exposed to a breakthrough infection have super immunity.”
