HYPOCRISY: Ocasio-Cortez Again Holds Democrats And Republicans To Different Standards

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has repeatedly demonstrated that she is only interested in engaging in hyperpartisan games — in which she holds Democrats and Republicans to completely different standards — and that the ideas she supposedly believes in should apply to everyone except her.

The 29-year-old former bartender attacked Trump administration officials on Tuesday for allegedly using WhatsApp to communicate with foreign leaders.

“Every day that we go on without getting to the bottom of this matter is a day that we are putting hundreds if not potentially thousands of Americans at risk. I mean, really, what is next, putting nuclear codes in Instagram DMs?!” Ocasio-Cortez said as she made a spectacle during a congressional hearing. “This is ridiculous.”

Shortly after the hearing, Ocasio-Cortez was on Twitter defending traitor Chelsea Manning for being a “whistleblower,” despite the fact that Manning put the lives of American soldiers at risk when Manning committed the “largest breach of classified information in U.S. history.”

“Chelsea Manning has been trapped in solitary confinement for refusing to answer questions before a Grand Jury,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted after the congressional hearing. “Solitary confinement is torture. Chelsea is being tortured for whistleblowing, she should be released on bail, and we should ban extended solitary in the US.”

This is just the latest example of Ocasio-Cortez’s hypocrisy.

Last week, Ocasio-Cortez repeatedly attacked the Trump administration over its decision — which President Donald Trump eventually overturned — to defund the Special Olympics.

This week Ocasio-Cortez’ home state — Democrat-controlled New York — decided to cut funding to the Special Olympics and instead then gave lawmakers and the governor huge raises in their annual salaries.

Ocasio-Cortez was silent on the issue and her office refused to respond to multiple requests for comment from The Daily Wire.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson noted Ocasio-Cortez’s blatant hypocrisy on Tuesday night when he highlighted her Green New Deal town hall event on MSNBC last week.

In the same breath, Ocasio-Cortez said that she does not engage in name calling as she then called conservatives xenophobic white supremacists.

When then-Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh was accused of sexual misconduct Ocasio-Cortez immediately seized on the opportunity to attack him.

Yet, when Virginia Democrat Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax was accused of sexual assault, Ocasio-Cortez refused to comment on the situation.

Ocasio-Cortez instituted an $80,000 salary cap for people who work for her — which allows them to avoid public transparency laws that would require them to reveal outside income, gifts, and stock trading activity — yet she has refused to state whether she will be subjected to her own rule or if she will collect the $174,000 salary that Representatives make.

Ocasio-Cortez’s hypocrisy is evident all the way down to where she lives.

“[Ocasio-Cortez] recently moved into a luxury apartment complex in Washington, D.C. that does not offer the affordable housing units that were a key plank in the New York congresswoman’s campaign platform,” the Washington Examiner reported.

“The freshman congresswoman, a self-described socialist, campaigned on a platform to expand affordable housing, and her controversial Green New Deal proposal promises ‘Safe, affordable, adequate housing’ for all,” the Examiner continued. “But Ocasio-Cortez’s new building — built by leading D.C. developer WC Smith — is part of a luxury complex whose owners specifically do not offer affordable units under Washington, D.C.’s Affordable Dwelling Units program.”

Ocasio-Cortez has also repeatedly tried to portray herself as being a morally superior politician who does not take “dark money,” a term she does not understand. Yet, her chief of staff, millionaire Saikat Chakrabarti, “funneled $1 million-plus in political donations to two of his own companies, Brand New Congress LLC and Brand New Campaign LLC,” according to the New York Post.

Regarding the allegations of corruption against Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti, former FEC Commissioner Hans von Spakovsky said: “There seems to be enough evidence here to justify opening a criminal investigation.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s hypocrisy is even found at the core of what she champions: far-left climate change policies.

Ocasio-Cortez repeatedly claims that the world is going to end in 12 years if climate change is not addressed — a claim that top climate scientists refute — leading her to demand that everyone changes the way that they live while she makes no apparent changes in the way that she lives.

Ocasio-Cortez’s $93 trillion Green New Deal calls for eliminating combustible engines yet her campaign relied on using gas-guzzling car rides during her campaign, despite being located only 138 feet away from a subway station.

“In all, Ocasio-Cortez spent $29,365.70 on those emissions-spewing vehicles, along with car and van rentals — even though her Queens HQ was a one-minute walk to the 7 train,” the New York Post reported.

The fringe environmentalist also admitted in an interview last month that she also throws away tons of plastic bags that she gets from the grocery store.
