Hong Kong erupted in a spate of violence over the weekend as pro-democracy protests in the city-state entered their fifth month, and as China promised to ramp up efforts to re-unify and re-educate Hong Kong residents.
At least 200 protesters were arrested over the weekend, Reuters reports, after setting fire to metro stations and vandalizing buildings, including the Hong Kong headquarters of Chinese state-run media.
