<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-started-to-cry-hollywood-star-credits-tom-cruises-rather-blunt-advice-with-helping-her-get-through-sci-fi-action-role" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emily Blunt</a> said she doesn&#8217;t want her kids to follow in her footsteps as actors, calling Hollywood a &#8220;hard industry&#8221; that can be &#8220;very disappointing.”</p>
<p>The 40-year-old actress — who shares two kids with actor John Krasinski — said the entertainment industry is one where a person can be judged on their appearance alone, which is not something she would want her daughters to have to deal with.</p>
<p>&#8220;My toes curl when people tell me, &#8216;My daughter wants to be an actress,’” Blunt told <a href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/culture/entertainment/a44036007/emily-blunt-july-interview/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harper&#8217;s Bazaar U.K. magazine</a>. &#8220;I want to say, &#8216;don&#8217;t do it.’”</p>
<p>&#8220;Because it&#8217;s a hard industry and it can be very disappointing,&#8221; she added. &#8220;A lot of people tell you not to take things personally — but it&#8217;s completely personal, especially when you&#8217;re being judged on how you look. So you just have to endure that side of things.&#8221;</p>

<p>The actress said what&#8217;s exciting for her children isn&#8217;t seeing her face on a movie billboard, but when she can pick them up at school.</p>
<p>&#8220;When I see myself up on a billboard, I have this complete dissociation with it… I&#8217;m like, who&#8217;s that?&#8221; Blunt continued. &#8220;And I can see my children doing the same — they might say, oh, there&#8217;s mama, but it&#8217;s not exciting for them. What&#8217;s exciting for them is when I can pick them up from school and take them swimming.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Because even though they&#8217;re hardy, and they&#8217;re used to this strange life, it&#8217;s still rough on them when I have to go away,&#8221; she added.</p>

<p>&#8220;The Devil Wears Prada&#8221; star recently finished filming several projects and said she has decided to take the rest of the year off to spend more time with her kids.</p>
<p>&#8220;There are cornerstones of the girls&#8217; day that I don&#8217;t want to compromise on — like, will you wake me up, take me to school, pick me up and put me to bed?&#8221; Blunt said. &#8220;And I just want to be able to say, yes, yes, yes. It&#8217;s such an exhale for me to be able to do that.&#8221;</p>
<p>The &#8220;Edge of Tomorrow&#8221; star and Krasinski tied the knot in 2010 and share daughters Hazel, 8, and Violet, 6.</p>
