“The Benghazi attack was directly and proximately caused, at a minimum by defendant Clinton’s ‘extreme carelessness’ in handling confidential and classified information,” such as the location of State Department employees in Libya,” a lawsuit filed by the parents of Benghazi parents states. The federal suit, filed Monday, was drafted by attorneys representing Patricia Smith and Charles Woods, the parents of Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods respectively, two US citizens killed in the deadly 2012 attack in Benghazi.
Alleging that it was “highly probable” that Hillary Clinton communicated with others about the activities of US Ambassador Chris Stevens around the time of the attack, Woods and Smith fully believe that the Democratic presidential nominee should be held responsible for what happened in Benghazi.
Part of their claim is backed by FBI Director James Comey, who stated that is was “possible that hostile actors gained access” to information that was then supplied to Islamic terrorists in Libya.
Patricia Smith, whose son Sean was killed while serving as an information officer at the US embassy in Benghazi, hasn’t shied away from making her position known. Appearing as a prime-time speaker at the GOP convention last month, Smith bluntly went after the former Secretary of State for her negligence, callousness, and deceit.
“I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son,” Smith said during an emotional invocation of her son’s memory. It was perhaps the most powerful moment of the convention.

Shortly after the convention, the Clinton campaign fired back, politely calling Smith a liar, as it has done since Hillary first ran for office last year.

Speaking down to the Benghazi families, the campaign responded to the new federal lawsuit in its typical patronizing fashion.
“While no one can imagine the pain of the families of the brave Americans we lost at Benghazi, there have been nine different investigations into this attack and none found any evidence whatsoever of any wrongdoing on the part of Hillary Clinton,” said Nick Merrill, one of Clinton’s many campaign spokespeople.
It looks like Hillary Clinton is still playing politics-as-usual with Benghazi. Go figure.
