Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Wednesday promoted the nickname “Tampon Tim” for Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), Kamala Harris’ 2024 VP pick.
Though the nickname was used by some on the Right to mock Walz’s radical transgender policy in his state, namely the governor mandating tampon access in little boys’ public school bathrooms, Clinton approved of the label.
“How nice of the Trump camp to help publicize Gov. Tim Walz’s compassionate and common-sense policy of providing free menstrual products to students in Minnesota public schools!” she posted on X. “Let’s do this everywhere.”

Clinton has notably turned off X users’ ability to reply to the post unless Clinton follows their account. The limitations were turned on after folks poked fun at the former First Lady for promoting the nickname.
Last year, Walz signed legislation requiring boys’ bathrooms in public schools to stock free tampons or pads beginning in January 2024, The Daily Wire reported.
“The products must be available to all menstruating students in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12 according to a plan developed by the school district,” the bill reads.
The governor also signed legislation in April 2023 that established Minnesota as a haven for children who want puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or transgender surgeries.

Notably, one of the numerous laws signed by Walz allows the state to seize custody of a child whose parents refuse to provide “gender affirming care.”
“Here in Minnesota, we stand with our trans youth against hateful laws and damaging rhetoric,” Walz posted to X, last year. “Our work to ensure all Minnesotans – especially our trans neighbors – are safe, valued, and respected continues.”
