<p class="p1">Former Secretary of State and presidential candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hillary-clinton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hillary Clinton</a> criticized recent pro-life wins, comparing actions that protect unborn life to those in countries around the world where women&#8217;s rights have historically been severely restricted.</p>
<p class="p1">At the Women’s Voice Summit held at the Clinton Presidential Center in Arkansas on Friday, Clinton <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hillary-clinton-overturning-roe-wade-us-afghanistan-sudan" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">said</span></a> the United States was like Sudan and Afghanistan with regard to abortion.</p>
<p class="p1">&#8220;It’s so shocking to think that in any way we’re related to poor Afghanistan and Sudan,&#8221; she said. “But as an advanced economy as we allegedly are, on this measure, we unfortunately are rightly put with them.”</p>
<p class="p1">&#8220;This struggle is between autocracy and democracy from our country to places we can’t even believe we’re being compared to,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p class="p1">In Sudan, abortion is <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19962640/#:~:text=Abortion%20is%20legally%20restricted%20in,care%20is%20not%20easily%20accessible." target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">legal</span></a> if a child was conceived in rape or if the mother’s life is in danger. In Afghanistan, it is only <a href="https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/countries-where-abortion-is-illegal" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">allowed</span></a> to save the life of the mother.</p>
<p class="p1">In an interview with Christiane Amanpour, Clinton also spoke about women’s rights and where we are as a country today.</p>

<p class="p1">“We have come a long way … on so many fronts, but we are also in a period of time where there is a lot of pushback and much of the progress that has been, I think, taken for granted by too many people is under attack: literally under attack in places like Iran or Afghanistan or Ukraine — where rape is a tactic of war — or under attack by political and cultural forces in a country like our own when it comes to women’s health care and bodily autonomy,” Clinton <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/hillary-clinton-compares-pro-lifers-173142058.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">said,</span></a> adding that people have voted in favor of abortion since the Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling.</p>
<p class="p1">“We have work to do to try to defend our rights, to stand up for them. And what we’ve seen, particularly since the <em>Dobbs</em> decision across our country, is that when voters — both men and women, but led by women — have a chance to vote on these draconian abortion restrictions, they do not accept them,” Clinton said.</p>
<p class="p1">The Supreme Court effectively overturned <i>Roe v. Wade </i>over the summer in the <i>Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization</i> case. The high court decided to give the right to decide abortion laws back to the states rather than mandating that every state allow abortion up to the point of viability.</p>
<p class="p1">Clinton went on to spread misinformation about pro-life laws and the medical care that women receive under them.</p>
<p class="p1">“We&#8217;ll see what happens in states like Arkansas and so many others when we face real-world problems, as we have seen already where women with miscarriages go in for medical care and are turned away,” she <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/alex-christy/2022/12/02/hillary-pbs-claim-pro-lifers-are-similar-iran-taliban-russian" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">said</span></a>. &#8220;When maybe, God forbid, a woman dies because that health care is denied her.”</p>
