Hailey Bieber opened up about her current mental health struggles and admitted she’s had “some of the saddest, hardest moments” in her life in 2023 after she suffered a mini-stroke last year.

The 26-year-old model and wife of pop singer Justin Bieber got personal in a Thursday post on her Instagram Stories, sharing with her 49.5 million followers that she’s been having a “hard time” and feeling “fragile” this year.

“I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time,” Bieber wrote.

“But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least,” she added. “And I know so many other people feel the same way I feel, so just know you’re not alone.”

“That being said, let’s keep being there for one another,” Bieber continued. “Let’s be there for loved ones and friends and family and strangers. Let’s just be there for people … let’s keep showing up for each other even when it’s hard. We’re better together.”

Her post comes following some social media drama between her fans and those of Justin Bieber’s ex, Selena Gomez. Both celebrities have shown support for each other and called for the negativity to end, People noted.

In January, Hailey opened up about the mini-stroke she suffered while visiting Palm Springs, California, in March of 2022, calling it “terrifying” and “jarring” and saying that the experience had left her with a “bit of PTSD,” as previously reported.

“It was definitely the scariest thing I’ve ever gone through,” Hailey explained. “Even the first couple of times coming back [to Palm Springs] after was a little bit of a strange triggering kind of feeling for me because you just remember exactly how everything happened in that moment. But I think the bright side for me was that it led me to find out I had this hole in my heart.”

“I struggled with a lot of anxiety after,” she added. “I struggled with a little bit of PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder] of just like the fear of maybe it was gonna happen again. And it was just a feeling that I was, like, I never want to experience that ever again. I mean, it was so terrifying, so jarring, so discombobulating in every single way that you could imagine.”
