Actress and lifestyle brand Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow on Thursday said her young son’s reaction to her company selling vibrators and other sex toys was “cute” and the “sweetest thing,” claiming he dubbed her a “feminist.”
Her son Moses, 15, told the actress he used to be “embarrassed” about his mom selling sex toys, but he now thinks it’s “great.”
“Can I tell you the sweetest thing?” Paltrow said, appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “This really happened. A few months ago, out of nowhere, he said, ‘Mom, I was really embarrassed for a minute that Goop sold vibrators. And then I realized no, this is great, you’re making people feel not embarrassed to buy something, and that’s great.”
Her son then apparently said to her, “You’re a feminist.”
“I was like, ‘Thank you, my dear!’ It was so cute,” Paltrow gushed.
The actress noted that she’s happy her children’s middle school took care of educating her kids on sex, adding that she’s around for “questions.”
“Teenagers are never going to want to talk to their parents about sex ever, so I sort of follow their lead, and luckily in middle school they had a very thorough sex education, so the school handled the kind of birds-and-the-bees parts, and then I am there for any questions,” the 49-year-old mother said. “But the questions are pretty minimal.”
In what was likely another uncomfortable moment for her children, Paltrow last summer revealed that she was selling a candle that “smells” like her “orgasm” — a follow-up scent to a candle that “smells” like her “vagina.” The Daily Wire reported at the time:
The “This Smells Like My Orgasm” candle is a “follow-up” scent to Paltrow’s “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle, which she said literally reminded her of the smell of her vagina.
The candle is priced at $75 and is described on the Goop site as follows: “A fitting follow-up to that candle—you know the one—this blend is made with tart grapefruit, neroli, and ripe cassis berries blended with gunpowder tea and Turkish rose absolutes for a scent that’s sexy, surprising, and wildly addictive.”

As noted by Paltrow, soon after her son was in frame speaking to Fallon, the box for the “This Smells Like My Orgasm” candle is covered with fireworks. Fallon approvingly laughed, adding, “Of course it has fireworks! Oh my gosh!”
“As Paltrow waxed on … about her fragrant climax, her son, Moses, was apparently sitting just outside of the frame before Fallon invited him to chat,” the New York Post reported. “The 14-year-old son of Paltrow and her ex, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, 43, said he was playing piano and guitar in his free time.”
