A Greenpeace activist obsessed with global warming found one place she could live for 12 months without melting: inside a commercial freezer.
Jade Martens, 26, decided that Barack Obama simply wasn’t doing enough to combat carbon dioxide emissions, and resolved to stay a free woman in the freezer, rather than to die from global warming, thus residing in the freezer to protest Obama’s passivity.
The 6′x3′x4′, chest freezer, which lies in the San Francisco Congress Center, features Martens eating, sleeping, and relieving herself. She stands up at various times during the day to stretch.
Martens told reporters, “The government and the corporations aren’t doing anything for the environment. Somebody had to do something, so I decided to take action myself. I hope that my actions can help raise awareness about global warming, and can eventually bring some political change. This is an important political action for which I have already made a lot of sacrifices. There is no way I am going to abandon now! The stakes are too high, I can’t give up. I am doing this for Mother Earth!”

She concluded, “My sacrifice is necessary for a better world”.
A Danish film maker named Hans Mitzbërg has said he will film a documentary about Martens. She certainly can boast that she shares one quality with Hillary Clinton.
