Gina Carano started trending on Twitter on Wednesday ahead of the premier of “Terror on the Prairie,” her Western film for The Daily Wire. Carano’s move to the site comes after she was cut from the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” allegedly over social media posts that were called offensive by some.

It started after Disney released a statement defending “Obi-Wan Kenobi” actress Moses Ingram, who claims to have received racist attacks online, as The Daily Wire reported previously.

“We are proud to welcome Moses Ingram to the Star Wars family and excited for Reva’s story to unfold,” the statement read. “If anyone intends to make her feel in any way unwelcome, we have only one thing to say: we resist.”

“There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t choose to be a racist,” it added.

In response, fans of Gina Carano took to social media to defend the actress who lost her job on the “Star Wars” series in February 2021 after social media posts that some deemed offensive. The post that got the most attention involved her sharing a screenshot of “another person’s post that she then posted onto her own Instagram account.” “The post compared the current polarized culture in the U.S. to Nazi Germany,” as previously reported.

Fans pointed out that Carano was “harassed for months” and didn’t receive any support from Disney at the time, with some suggesting it was because the actress didn’t have “the right politics.”

“The Mandalorian” actor Bill Burr recently defended his former co-star Carano after being asked if he thought her “firing was a fair move,” and said that “liberals proved her point.”

“No,” Burr responded to the question. “I thought it was funny that the liberals proved her point. They just use outrage because they don’t like your politics. As someone who considers himself liberal, it’s disappointing to see the Left become how the Right used to be when they went after the Dixie Chicks after they criticized George W. Bush.”

“The whole thing with Gina [Carano]: You can’t chime in when the s***’s happening, because then you cause static for other people on the [show],” he added. “That somebody’s opinion — or their political beliefs — makes people try to destroy their ability to make a living, it’s f***ing bizarre to me.”

During a recent “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, the host also defended Carano from the online attacks as he mentioned getting to see the trailer for her upcoming western, which he said “looks wild.”

“I mean, essentially, she was just talking about how there’s like a tendency in human beings to think of other people that think differently than you as being ‘others.’ They’re not us, they’re others, and she equated it to the Holocaust. … As soon as you do that, people are like ‘Oh boy, don’t f***ing compare anything to the Holocaust.’ Then they fired her. But I don’t think that what she actually said was outrageous, or egregious or awful.”

“I think she was just trying to say that this political divide in this country that separates people and is so polarizing is unhealthy. … Unfortunately, she compared it to the Holocaust and they just fired her.”
