‘Game Of Thrones’ Viewers Catch What Appears To Be Another Giant Mistake

HBO is spending upwards of $15 million per episode for “Game of Thrones.” Maybe they should pay someone $12 an hour to give them a hand editing the show before it airs.

Last week, eagle-eyed viewers found a coffee cup — which looked a lot like one from Starbucks — sitting on a table in a medieval-era castle. But this new apparent error was much, much worse.

In Sunday’s show, Jaime Lannister, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, appears to have somehow grown back his hand, which was lopped off in the third season. Ever since, he’s had to wear a big clinky gold hand, and even had to relearn how to be a swordsman, this time left-handed.

But in screen shots captured by viewers from season 8, episode 5 — titled “The Bells” — Lannister embraces Cersei (played by Lena Headey) as flames engulf the Red Keep and its seven massive drum-towers crowned with iron ramparts. In some shots, you can see Lannister’s right hand — which should be gone.

Others, though, said the clearly visible hand could still be the gold prosthetic Jaime’s been wearing for years. But the internet loves a controversy, so the miracuolusly reappearing hand trended quickly on Twitter.

And as the highly hyped show sputters to an end, some longtime viewers are not so happy.

“so for the record, jaime magically grew his right hand back, dothraki and the unsullied seemed to have forgotten that a lot of them died in winterfell and westeros has starbucks. so much for the ‘best season ever’,” wrote one disappointed viewer.

The eighth and final season of the epic fantasy adventure has been mired with problems and criticized by viewers. Episode 3, titled “The Long Night,” was so dark viewers complained they couldn’t see what was happening. “So all those millions of dollars in production value must have went to the dragon scenes because damn are the battle scenes dark as hell on #GameOfThrones,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Then in episode 4, titled “The Last Of The Starks,” that cup of coffee appeared. At one point during the show, Daenerys is seated at a table, sipping wine. Attentive viewers, though, saw what appears to be a coffee cup from Starbucks — and they went on social media to espresso a latte of anger.

“You’re telling me they had TWO YEARS to put together a decent show and they couldn’t even spot the goddamn Starbucks cup in Winterfell??!?!” one fan wrote.

HBO joked about the gaffe the next day. “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea,” the network wrote on Twitter.
