‘Full House’ Star Files For Divorce From Spouse After Almost 28 Years

“Full House” alum Lori Loughlin has filed for divorce from her spouse of nearly 28 years, Mossimo Giannulli, following a year of separation.

TMZ first reported that the former power couple cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.

The parents of daughters Isabella Rose, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26, made headlines six years ago for their involvement in the 2020 college admissions scandal along with 50 other people, including “Desperate Housewives” actress Felicity Huffman.

Loughlin and Giannulli were accused of paying $500,000 to a college consultant who pretended their daughters were recruits to the University of Southern California’s crew team. They pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, which resulted in Loughlin serving two months in prison and Giannulli serving five months.

Divorce rumors have been swirling since last year, with sources claiming the couple were living “separate lives” following their respective stints behind bars. 

“Things have never been the same after weathering the college admission fallout and the prison sentences together,” a source told People in January. “Lori feels betrayed. They’re in very different places right now, and it’s unlikely that they’ll find their way back together.”

Another insider said Loughlin is still “extremely angry” with her husband of nearly three decades. 

Loughlin returned to television by quietly reprising her role on “When Calls the Heart,” which aired on the Great American Channel (GAC) in 2021, as The Daily Wire previously reported. 

The actress also issued a lengthy statement before serving time. “I made an awful decision. I went along with a plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college admissions process,” she said at the time. “In doing so, I ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass. I thought I was acting out of love for my children, but in reality it only undermined and diminished my daughters’ abilities and accomplishments.”

“That realization weighs heavily on me and while I wish I could go back and do things differently, I can only take responsibility and move forward. I have great faith in God and I believe in redemption,” Loughlin concluded. “I will do everything in my power to redeem myself and use this experience as a catalyst to do good and give back for the rest of my life.”
