Fox reporters Peter Doocy and wife Hillary Vaughn announced Thursday that they welcomed their first child into the world on February 1, a baby girl.
Doocy, a White House correspondent for Fox News, tweeted a People magazine article confirming his daughter Bridget Blake Doocy was here.
“Meet Bridget Blake Doocy!” Doocy tweeted. “Asked [President] [JoeBiden] for tips about being a new dad, at the WH holiday reception. His advice: ‘hold her tight.’ Will do!”

In the piece, Doocy shared that he had gotten some name suggestions at a recent White House press briefing, too.
“During a briefing last month, the press secretary gave me permission to name the baby Karine and I joked we were considering naming the baby after the president: ‘Joe-sephine,'” the Fox News reporter shared. “But we can report here for the first time her name is Bridget Blake Doocy.”
Vaughn admitted she was actually on her way to Capitol Hill when her water broke but said she was “prepared.”
“I knew where all the offices were for senators who used to be doctors,” the Fox Business reporter shared. “Sen. [John] Barrasso [Wyoming physician of the year] saw me the day before I went into labor and told me to reach out if I ever needed anything. Luckily, I didn’t have to call him to catch the baby!”
“I’ve only been a mom for one week but it’s already the best assignment I’ve ever had,” she added. “She’s stolen the show!”
“I didn’t realize this until now, but I’ve been training for motherhood my entire career by trying to get lawmakers on Capitol Hill to respond to my questions,” Vaughn continued. “This job isn’t much different. ‘Baby Bridget – can you give us a comment? Are you hungry or gassy, or both?’ Trying to get an on-the-record answer is tough!”
“Fox and Friends” host Steve Doocy, Peter’s dad, said he and wife Kathy are looking forward to going “from rule-makers to rule breakers” as he congratulated his son.
“When I wrote a book on fatherhood, I highlighted a famous quote that, ‘There are three stages of a man’s life: he believes in Santa Claus, he doesn’t believe in Santa Claus, he is Santa Claus.’ Peter, congratulations, you just made it to fatherhood’s third round.”
