<p>Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said on Monday that President Joe Biden&#8217;s Build Back Better Plan is a &#8216;direct assault&#8217; on America&#8217;s standard of living.</p>
<p>Gingrich shared the comments during an interview on Fox News&#8217; &#8220;<a href="https://video.foxnews.com/v/6286599453001" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox &amp; Friends</a>&#8221; on Monday, addressing the nation&#8217;s growing inflation and Biden&#8217;s low approval ratings.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think the country understands that even more spending just increases the inflation rate. The numbers last month were the worst in 40 years,&#8221; Gingrich said.</p>

<p>&#8220;If you&#8217;re a working American, or if you&#8217;re an American on a limited income, you&#8217;re paying more for gasoline, more for rent, more for food. It is a direct assault on the standard of living of most Americans,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>Gingrich said the concern touches on something important for Democrats &#8212; the concern of losing power in the House following the 2022 midterm elections.</p>
<p>&#8220;Here&#8217;s the problem if you&#8217;re Biden and Pelosi and Schumer, you&#8217;re already discounting next year and assuming you&#8217;re going to get wiped out so you&#8217;re trying to drive through everything to pay off your allies before the catastrophe hits,&#8221; Gingrich noted.</p>
<p>Some Democrat economic leaders have already warned about the increased inflation associated with the president&#8217;s spending bill.</p>

<p>&#8220;We put in motion for the first time in 40 years, excessive inflation, caused by overheating of the economy, and that’s going to have to be worked out of the system and that’s probably not going to be such an easy thing,” economist Larry Summers said.</p>
<p>As The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-senator-on-bidens-build-back-better-people-will-end-up-paying-more-for-just-about-everything" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>:</p>

All the tax experts will tell us that at least a third of middle America will pay a lot more in taxes, and the impact of inflation on people’s lives now, whether you want to call it a hidden tax or not, people’s paychecks are not keeping up. People are hurting, and it’s the Biden policies that have made it worse.”</em></p></blockquote>
<p>South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham <a href="https://video.foxnews.com/v/6286458707001" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Sunday that the House should re-vote on Biden’s Build Back Better spending bill, claiming Democrats must “quit lying” about the bill.</p>
<p>“The House should re-vote. The vote in the House was based on a fraud,” Graham argued.</p>
<p>“There is not a plan to pay for it,” Graham later added. “If there is, I missed it. So give it to me.”</p>
