<p>Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (D) made a giant boo-boo on Monday night during a debate with Rep. David Jolly (R-Fla.), the incumbent representative for Florida&#8217;s 13th Congressional District seat: he called Hillary Clinton honest, prompting laughter and boos from the audience.</p>
<p>Speaking at the Palladium Theater in downtown St. Petersburg, Crist stated: &#8220;I am proud of Hillary Clinton. I think she&#8217;s been a very good secretary of state, a very good senator from the state of New York. The thing I like most about her is I believe she is steady, I believe that she is strong, I believe that she is honest, and I look forward to voting for her.&#8221;</p>
<p>That did it. Laughter and some boos from the audience abounded.</p>
<p>Jolly <a href="http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/stateroundup/charlie-crist-david-jolly-spar-right-out-of-the-gate-in-congressional/2294309">nailed </a>Crist after Crist stated he supported a woman&#8217;s right to choose abortion, pointing out Crist&#8217;s anti-abortion positions in his former life as a Republican.</p>
<p>Jolly also heard some boos from the crowd when he allowed he wasn&#8217;t sure whether to vote for Donald Trump. The 13th Congressional district leans Democratic now; the Florida Supreme Court ordered the state legislature to redraw its boundaries last year.</p>
<p>Jolly pointed out, &#8220;He got in this race because the lines changed. I got in this race despite the lines changing.&#8221; Crist stated that the politician he most admired was President Barack Obama.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Early reports indicate that more than a dozen masked individuals dressed in black arrived at the Prairieland ICE detention facility late Friday night and vandalized vehicles and security cameras in the parking lot,” CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/alvarado-police-officer-shot-suspects-open-fire-fourth-of-july-johnson-county/">reported</a>. “The individuals launched fireworks in an apparent effort to lure law enforcement.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">On Monday, acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson stated, “We’re here to tell you that late at night on July 4, Friday night at approximately 10:37 p.m. at the Prairieland ICE detention center in Alvarado, Texas, ten to twelve individuals dressed in black, military-style clothing, began shooting fireworks and engaging in acts of vandalism at the facility and this was part of an organized attack.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Today, my office has charged ten individuals with three counts of attempted murder of a federal officer,” she continued. “Each of the ten are also charged with three counts of discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. Each of these defendants faces a mandatory prison term of ten years and up to life in prison. An additional co-conspirator was charged with an obstruction of justice and conspiracy for attempting to conceal and destroy evidence in relation to the attack, and he faces up to ten years in prison.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Let’s discuss the incident,” she continued. “It was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers. Make no mistake; this was not a so-called ‘peaceful protest.’ It was, indeed, an ambush.”</p>

11 Arrested For Plotting ‘Ambush’ To ‘Kill ICE Corrections Officers’

<p style="font-weight: 400;">California on Monday rejected the resolution agreement from the Trump administration to follow federal law and keep men out of women&#8217;s sports.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) aligned itself with the California Department of Education (CDE) and refused to sign the resolution agreement. The resolution was proposed on June 25, when the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced the conclusion of its Title IX investigations into the state for allegations of discrimination against women and girls on the basis of sex.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Federal officials found that California was in clear violation of Title IX.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“As a result of the noncompliance finding, OCR has issued a proposed Resolution Agreement to CDE and CIF to resolve their Title IX violations,” the U.S. Department of Education <a href="https://www.ed.gov/about/news/press-release/us-department-of-education-finds-california-department-of-education-and-california-interscholastic-federation-violation-of-title-ix">said</a> in a press release issued last month. “OCR has offered both entities an opportunity to voluntarily agree to change these unlawful practices within 10 days or risk imminent enforcement action, including referral to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for proceedings.</p>
<p>In March, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, in a move widely regarded as an attempt to <span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">distance himself from his leftist record and position himself for a future presidential run, <a href="https://calmatters.org/politics/2025/03/newsom-transgender-athletes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> on his podcast that he opposed men competing </span>in women&#8217;s sports. When criticisms were made of a high school boy who had won a regional meet, Newsom responded, “I think it’s an issue of fairness. I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness. It’s deeply unfair. I’m not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">After the CIF informed the CDE on Monday that it would not sign the resolution agreement, Education Secretary Linda McMahon wrote on X, “Turns out Gov. Newsom’s acknowledgment that ‘it’s an issue of fairness’ was empty political grandstanding,” adding, &#8220;You&#8217;ll be hearing from (Attorney General Pam Bondi).&#8221;</p>

California Rejects Title IX Plan To Keep Boys Out Of Girls’ Sports: ‘You’ll Be Hearing From Bondi’

<p style="font-weight: 400;">On Monday, shortly after Planned Parenthood sued the Trump administration over a provision in the “big, beautiful bill&#8221; that would have cut federal funding for the abortion giant, a leftist federal judge in Massachusetts blocked the provision outright.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani, an Obama appointee, approved Planned Parenthood&#8217;s request to halt the provision, which freezes Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood for one year.</p>
<p>Talwani&#8217;s restraining order, which will last for two weeks, <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.286600/gov.uscourts.mad.286600.18.0.pdf">holds</a> that &#8220;defendants, their agents, employees, appointees, successors, and anyone acting in concert or participation with Defendants are hereby enjoined from enforcing, retroactively enforcing, or otherwise applying&#8221; the relevant provision of the bill.</p>
<p>&#8220;&#8216;Defendants shall take all steps necessary to ensure that Medicaid funding continues to be disbursed in the customary manner,&#8221; Talwani added.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Talwani’s ruling still allows the administration to enforce the provision against other providers, but Planned Parenthood says it comprises almost the entirety of the impacted entities,” <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5388912-judge-temporarily-blocks-planned-parenthood-defunding-megabill/">The Hill</a> noted.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In 2024, Planned Parenthood’s annual report noted the organization had performed 392,715 abortions between Oct. 1, 2021, and Sept. 30, 2022. That represented a 5% increase over the year before, when 374,155 abortions were performed. <em>Roe v. Wade</em> was overturned by the Supreme Court in June 2022.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“The document says that locations in states ‘where abortion is protected’ saw a 700% increase in demand,” the <a href="https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/257428/planned-parenthood-reports-record-number-abortions-latest-annual-report">Catholic News Agency</a> reported. “The report also said that Planned Parenthood helped to refer and coordinate travel for over 33,000 abortions.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In late June, the Supreme Court ruled that lower courts do not have the unilateral authority to block presidential orders. Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who wrote the <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24pdf/24a884_8n59.pdf">opinion</a> for the majority, stated, “federal courts do not exercise general oversight of the Executive Branch; they resolve cases and controversies consistent with the authority Congress has given them.”</p>

Leftist Judge Blocks Trump From Defunding Planned Parenthood With Big Beautiful Bill

<p style="font-weight: 400;">In a staggering turnaround, Argentina’s libertarian president, Javier Milei, has reversed the country’s free-fall into the economic abyss and led a recovery that is simply astonishing.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In November 2023, Argentina’s inflation rate had soared to 211.4% and the country had a poverty rate of 41.7%; 19.5 million people lived below the poverty line. Ironically, just before the November election, The Guardian <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/nov/08/argentina-election-javier-milei-economists-warning">wrote</a> about a letter signed by more than 100 economists warning that electing Milei would bring “devastation” to Argentina.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Through an aggressive program of public spending cuts, eliminating bureaucracy, and reducing public sector jobs, he erased Argentina’s massive fiscal deficit, paving the way for a historic economic recovery,” Emmanuel Rincon noted in <a href="https://thedailyeconomy.org/article/mileis-economic-miracle-how-argentina-slashed-inflation-to-1-5/">The Daily Economy</a>.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">By May 2025, the inflation rate had plummeted to 43.5%, and the consumer price index rose 1.5%, marking the lowest levels in five years. Wholesale prices dropped by 0.3% in May, the best number in 17 years.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“These achievements were no fluke,” Rincon wrote. “They stemmed from a clear strategy: fiscal balance, reduced public spending, ending monetary expansion as a financing tool, and economic deregulation.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">As the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/texas-floods-hill-country-weather-warnings-238d4325bb58f0b410015f74684738b6">Associated Press</a> noted, “The National Weather Service sent out a series of flash flood warnings in the early hours Friday before issuing flash flood emergencies — a rare alert notifying of imminent danger.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">According to Jason Runyen, a meteorologist in the National Weather Service office, the local weather service office had extra staff on duty when the storms hit. They normally have two forecasters when the weather is clear but had up to five when the storms came.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“There were extra people in here that night, and that’s typical in every weather service office — you staff up for an event and bring people in on overtime and hold people over,” Runyen said.</p>

Texas Pediatrician Fired After Saying ‘MAGA’ Flood Victims Got ‘What They Voted For’

<p style="font-weight: 400;">President Donald Trump<span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"> <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114809528606729733" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a> on Sunday that any countries considering alignment with the BRICS intergovernmental organization would face an additional 10% tariff, with</span> no exceptions.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The BRICS group was initially founded in 2009 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China as a forum for discussing coordinated policies, much like the G7 countries, which include the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Other countries that have joined BRICS include South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Any Country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of BRICS, will be charged an ADDITIONAL 10% Tariff,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “There will be no exceptions to this policy. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Last December, as president-elect, Trump <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgrwj0p2dd9o">warned</a> the BRICS countries against developing a currency to challenge the American dollar, stating, &#8220;The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“China and Russia see BRICS as a way to challenge the United States’ influence on geopolitics and decision-making, and have pushed the group to grow in size,” The New York Times has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/05/world/americas/iran-brics-summit-rio-de-janeiro.html">noted</a>.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Meanwhile, at the BRICS summit on Sunday in Brazil, representatives of the Iranian government, seeking allies, attended the meeting. On Sunday, the BRICS group issued a statement condemning President Trump’s strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, <a href="https://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy/article/3317159/brics-leaders-set-condemn-strikes-iran-avoid-direct-mention-us-israel">calling</a> them a “violation of international law.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In January, nine countries <a href="https://geopoliticaleconomy.com/2024/10/26/brics-13-partner-countries-summit-kazan-russia/">became</a> “partner states” with BRICS, a first step toward joining and becoming official members. Those countries included Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan. Last month, Vietnam became another “partner state,” a designation that <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/china/vietnam-admitted-brics-partner-country-brazil-says-2025-06-13/">permits</a> a country to participate in BRICS summits and other discussion sessions.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">At the meeting in Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, the chair of the New Development Bank (NDB), which was established by the BRICS nations, boasted, “Today we have strong credit ratings, including a AAA grade from the Japanese agency JCR, and we are expanding into new markets, such as yen-denominated instruments and the Middle East,” then warned against economies relying on the U.S. dollar for external financing, as she declared,  “Any business or government that borrows in foreign currency becomes subject to decisions made by the Federal Reserve or other central banks in developed nations.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“As a concrete example of this alternative approach, she pointed to a project in Brazil funded directly in renminbi, without the need for dollar conversion,” the BRICS portal <a href="https://infobrics.org/en/post/51428/">reported.</a></p>
