Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci and other top federal public health officials for dehumanizing the American population through mask mandates.
During a recent interview with Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, Ladapo — who leads the Florida Department of Health — observed that localities with and without mask mandates have seen “similar surges.” He added that “so many leaders right now are essentially data deniers.”

When Carlson noted that children require facial cues to experience proper development, Ladapo said that he was “sharing … one of the saddest parts of this pandemic in terms of health policy at the national level — including with people like Dr. Fauci.”
“They basically dehumanized the U.S. population,” Ladapo explained. “Instead of being individuals, children, you know, doing the things that make children wonderful — playing, being worry-free, expressing themselves — they sort of put them in this box where they are spreaders of viruses and they have to have their faces covered despite how unnatural that is, without really any high-quality data showing any benefit and lots of data and parental intuition suggesting harm, and tremendous harm. You know, it is completely unnatural.”
“I think the word ‘dehumanize’ is the perfect word to use,” replied Carlson.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden is planning to distribute 400 million free N95 masks beginning next week — halving the nation’s strategic stockpile.
“This is the largest deployment of personal protective equipment in US history,” an unnamed White House official told CNN. “To ensure broad access for all Americans, there will be three masks available per person. In addition to this program, thanks to the administration’s efforts, these high-quality masks are in ample supply and widely available to American consumers.”
Lawmakers have been pushing for the adoption of more sturdy masks — such as N95s — over cloth face coverings. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), for one, proposed the “Masks For All Act” to manufacture and mail N95 masks to all households. Co-sponsored by lawmakers such as Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the legislation would spend $5 billion on mailing three masks to every American.
“As we face the rapidly spreading Omicron variant, we should remember that not all face masks are created equal,” Sanders explained. “Congress must demand the mass production and distribution of N95 masks, one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of the Covid virus.”
“It is an absolute scandal that in the richest country in the history of the world, high-quality masks are not more readily available to frontline workers, health care workers, and all Americans,” he continued. “We are proposing that we do what our public health experts and scientists say we must do: provide all of our people with high-quality, N95 masks without cost, which could prevent death and suffering and save huge amounts of health care dollars.”
The masks would be distributed by the United States Postal Service and would come in multiple sizes — including for children.
