Fans of the hit legendary movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” got incredible news Monday that a spin-off film is reportedly in the works more than 30 years after the original movie hit the big screen in 1986.
In a recent piece from Deadline titled, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ Spinoff From ‘Cobra Kai’ Creators & Bill Posley In Works At Paramount Pictures,” he magazine reported that the two “valets,” who took Cameron’s dad’s Ferrari for a joy ride, are getting their own movie.
The film titled, “Sam and Victor’s Day Off” will reportedly follow the adventure of the titular valets who took the Ferrari on a joy ride on the same day Ferris and his friends decided to play hooky from high school.
Hurwitz appeared to confirm the news when he tweeted, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was epic. But the valets who stole Cameron’s dad’s car had a pretty insane day too. It’s time for their story to be told. Thrilled to be working with one of our Cobra kai superstars @BillPosley on Sam & Victor’s Day Off!”
The “Cobra Kai” creators — behind the hit reimagined series inspired by “The Karate Kid” movies — Posley, Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald are producing the film, with Dina Hillier as an executive producer, the outlet noted.

The John Hughes coming of age film famously launched Matthew Broderick’s career. He was joined by actor Alan Ruck (best friend Cameron), Mia Sara (girlfriend Sloane), Jeffrey Jones (school dean), Jennifer Grey (Bueller’s sister Jeanie) and Charlie Sheen in a comedic romp about Broderick’s character playing hooky before graduation and the ripple effect that his adventure had on everyone who was connected to him in some way.
In the original film, the valet characters’ names were never provided. The two actors who played the parts were Richard Edson and Larry ‘Flash’ Jenkins,” the outlet noted. Jenkins died in 2019.
The Ferrari had 126 miles on it before Sam and Victor took it from the parking structure and 301 after the three teens picked it back up, per FunTrivia.com. Since that time, audiences have only had their imagination to fill in what occurred.
The outlet provided no other details about when fans can expect this spinoff to hit theaters.
