Joe Rogan said that if it comes to a point where he has to “walk on eggshells” on his show he will “quit” and made it clear his show “requires sincerity.” Without it, he said, the show wouldn’t have success.

During the Tuesday episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, the host talked with his guest MMA fighter Josh Barnett about his past headlines after a video resurfaced of Rogan using a compilation of the N-word and the criticism he’s faced for his COVID-19 vaccine “misinformation.”

Barnett first started out by sharing how he was really nervous about going on the show because he thought with all the attention Rogan has had “everybody” was going to “pore over” every little thing he said during his appearance on the podcast. It starts at the 2:14 minute mark in the show.

“They will because there’s more people poring over it but it’s the same thing,” the host replied. “I do it [the show] the same way.”

“If I become something different because it grew bigger, I’ll quit,” he added. “If it gets to a point that I can’t do it anymore, where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s, f*** that.”

Barnett said he understood what Rogan was saying and said his pal needed to be able to do his show with “100% sincerity.”

“Especially this,” Rogan replied. “This requires sincerity, without it, this show doesn’t have any success.”

“Ninety-nine percent of everyone’s complaint on you, any criticism, is essentially — they’re levying a insincere — they’re putting insincerity on you,” Barnett answered.

“But the thing is when you do something like that, because it’s a good thing, because it intrigues you and you like it, it resonates with people because they’re so starving for that,” the host replied. “Because most of what you see, you see a lot of people that are cynical and they think that everything is insincere.”

“And you just find the thing that’s the most acceptable to you that’s also insincere,” he added. “And that’s how we pick politicians.”

As previously reported by the Daily Wire, Rogan apologized for his past use of the N-word after the clip resurfaced and later called it a “political hit job.”

“Last Friday, Spotify pulled 70 episodes of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience from its platform, dating from 2009 to 2018, which the streamer said it did at the request of Rogan and his team. That came after singer India Arie last week said she was pulling her music and podcasts off Spotify, citing Rogan’s ‘language around race’; she reposted a video on Instagram compiling 24 times Rogan used the N-word on his podcast, and the resurfaced clip soon went viral,” Variety reported.

Speaking with his guest, comedian Akaash Singh, Rogan asserted, “In a lot of ways, all this is a relief, ’cause that video had always been out there. It’s like, this is a political hit job. And so they’re taking all this stuff that I’ve ever said that’s wrong, and smushing it all together. But it’s good ’cause it makes me address some s*** that I really wish wasn’t out there.”

The host consistently proves he’s not afraid to tackle any issue, speaking about everything from how President Joe Biden “can’t talk right anymore” to calling out Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars for just doing his “f***ing job.”
