President Donald Trump is continuing to embrace his role as Sports Fan in Chief with his appearance in Texas on Wednesday.

White House sources tell Sport & State that President Trump will be introduced by baseball legend Roger Clemens during his appearance in San Antonio Wednesday afternoon for a midterm election campaign rally.

One of the greatest pitchers in MLB history, Clemens has openly supported the president since 2019, when he was encouraged to run for the Republican representative seat in Texas.

The Rocket attended the University of Texas before his illustrious professional career. Clemens was a seven-time Cy Young Award winner with four different teams across three decades, including in 1986, when he won the American League MVP with the Boston Red Sox. He was also a member of the New York Yankees’ back-to-back World Serieschampionship teams in 1999 and 2000.

The president’s involvement with sports figures and events is nothing new based on his recent travels.

On Tuesday, Trump was in Baltimore to announce a new shipyard, where he was accompanied by Baltimore Ravens players Ryan Eckley, Nick Moore, Tyler Loop, and Marlon Humphrey.

They also rode in a vehicle with the president, as seen in a social media post from Humphrey.

Two weeks ago, Sport & State founder Clay Travis broke the news that Trump would be in attendance for Texas-Tennessee, where he later interviewed him at halftime of the SECmatchup.

Later that week, former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Dennis Rodman attended one of Trump’s rallies in Oklahoma, where they were granted eligibility to play in the WNBA.

Trump will continue to show his sports fandom this weekend, where he is scheduled to attend Georgia-Alabama in Tuscaloosa for a high-profile college football matchup.
