One day after she compared an “unsolicited request” for debate to “catcalling,” a photo of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez emerged Friday that showed her going to the offices of Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in May of this year in an attempt to shame him into debating her.
The photo was posted by Ocasio-Cortez to her Twitter account where she complained that Crowley was “avoiding a debate” and wasn’t “acknowledging” her:
This discovery comes a day after Ocasio-Cortez compared Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro’s invitation to debate him to a man “catcalling” a woman and feeling “entitled” to a response. Shapiro offered to make a $10,000 donation to her campaign if she agreed to a debate or discussion on his “Sunday Special” — or, if she preferred, to use the debate to raise money for charity.
Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet came in response to The Daily Wire reporting that she had not responded to multiple attempts made by The Daily Wire to reach her and her campaign to see if they would accept the offer.
Within moments of The Daily Wire publishing the report, Ocasio-Cortez responded with her “catcalling” comment. Nine minutes later, Shapiro fired back:
