On Friday, Donald Trump Jr. slammed far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in a tweet that took aim at the congresswoman’s latest scandal — an alleged affair with a married man that led the man’s wife to file for divorce.
“To summarize: @IlhanMN took (defrauded?) $$$ from donors who have very little disposable income,” Trump Jr. tweeted. “Then she ‘spent’ their cash with her lover, who was married to another woman. And all of this after speculation that she married her brother to get around U.S. immigration law. YIKES!”
Trump Jr. referenced the bombshell divorce filing that The New York Post reported in which Dr. Beth Jordan Mynett accused her husband Tim Mynett, a Democratic strategist, of having an affair with Omar.
“Dr. Beth Jordan Mynett says her cheating spouse, Tim Mynett, told her in April that he was having an affair with the Somali-born US representative and that he even made a ‘shocking declaration of love’ for the Minnesota congresswoman before he ditched her, alleges the filing, submitted in DC Superior Court on Tuesday,” The New York Post reported. “The 37-year-old congresswoman and mom of three paid Tim Mynett and his E. Street Group approximately $230,000 through her campaign since 2018 for fundraising consulting, digital communications, Internet advertising and travel expenses.”
Nearly one out of every three dollars spent on Omar’s re-election campaign were going to her alleged lover.
The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Andrew Kerr reported that Omar’s campaign “began making payments to E. Street Group for ‘travel expenses'” on April 1 and that six days later, on April 7, “Mynett confessed to his wife that he was ‘romantically involved with and in love with’ Omar,” according to the divorce filings.
Kerr noted that Beth Mynett said in the divorce filings that her husband’s “more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than with his actual work commitments.”
Omar has long faced legitimate questions circling her previous marriages, including questions about whether she committed marriage and immigration fraud.
When confronted by reporters on Thursday, Omar refused to answer questions about the latest scandal she is facing, calling the questions “stupid.”
