Country star Dolly Parton definitely got everyone’s attention while hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday when she made a joke about having a threesome with Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood.

During the opening monologue of the 2023 ACM Awards show, the 77-year-old country singer told Brooks, her cohost, that she thought the term “GOAT” (Greatest of all time) meant something much more risqué, Fox News reported.

It started after Brooks referred to Parton as the “GOAT” in country music, and she responded, “Did I hear you say you were looking for a goat? I’ve got your goat right here.”

The “9 to 5” hitmaker then wheeled a goat in a cart out on stage and made several odd jokes directed at Brooks, USA Today noted.

“I’m sorry, that was such a ba-a-a-a-a-d joke,” Parton said. “This is Garth’s very first time ever hosting an award show. You know what they say, you never forget your first time.”

The “Jolene” hitmaker then revealed that she learned she was the 61-year-old country singer’s “hall pass” — a term that means a married couple has that one famous person who their spouse has given consent for the other to have an affair with.

“I’m Trisha’s hall pass too,” Dolly added, with Brooks confirming that was “true.”

“I just had a thought,” Parton continued. “I know why you’re doing the goat thing. I think it stands for ‘Garth organized a threesome.'”

The “Thunder Rolls” hitmaker blushed a bit before he replied, “I thought I couldn’t love you any more.”

Brooks and Yearwood tied the knot in 2005, years after their previous marriages ended in divorce. Parton has been married to Tennessee businessman Carl Thomas Dean for more than 50 years.

Speaking recently about how the couple has made their marriage work for 56 years, Parton said that her husband’s “not in the business, so we have different interests, but yet we have the things we love to do together.”

“So it was meant to be, I think,” she added. “He was the one I was supposed to have and vice versa.”
