Disney’s “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” star Jameela Jamil admitted she dropped out of recent auditions for a hit Netflix show over the filming of “sex scenes,” which she doesn’t do.
During the 37-year-old actress‘ recent appearance on Penn Badgley’s “Podcrushed” podcast, Jamil told the host she backed down from trying out for a potential role with Badgley in “You” Season 4 before the actor announced he was done with intimacy scenes on the show because “fidelity” in his marriage is important to him. He married Domino Kirke in 2017.
“I don’t do sex scenes,” “The Good Place” star said. “In fact, I was supposed to audition for the most recent season of your show.”
“My character was supposed to be quite sexy, and I pulled out of the audition, because I am so shy about anything sexy that I can’t,” she added.
“And then you f***ing came out and were like, ‘Yeah, I’m not doing sex scenes anymore,’ and I was like, ‘I didn’t even know that was a boundary that we could draw,'” Jamil continued. “But then I was like, I should have gone and done the f***ing show.”
The “Legendary” star later talked about how it’s not only doing sex scenes that makes her feel uncomfortable but watching them on the screen as well, the Hollywood Reporter noted.
“Can’t even watch sex scenes in films. … Even on my own, I have to fast-forward through sex scenes because I’ve become so shy about watching other people,” the actress said.
“It’s not a shame. … I feel there’s an awkwardness around it,” she added.

Her comments came after Badgley’s earlier this year when he talked about going to the showrunners and telling them he didn’t want any more intimate scenes on the show in Season 4, the Hollywood Reporter noted.

“This is actually a decision I’d made before I took the show,” Badgley said. “I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it publicly, but one of the main things is like, ‘Do I wanna put myself back on a career path where I’m just always a romantic lead?'”
“It’s really important to me … Fidelity in every relationship — and especially my marriage — is important to me, and it just got to a point where I didn’t wanna do that,” he added.
“Then, of course, before I took the show is there a question of, ‘Do I have a career if I don’t?'” Badgley continued. “I mean, you know, think about every male lead you’ve loved. Are they kissing someone? Are they doing a lot more than that? It’s really not my desire to.”
