Disneyland and Walt Disney World now offer “Pride”-themed Mickey Mouse ears for guests looking to celebrate their sexual identity while in the parks.
Mickey ears, a staple of anyone’s Disney visit, come in hundreds of styles, but until now Disney seems to have refrained from making “political statement” ears: most are decorated like Disney characters, iconic Disney rides, or to complement particular trends (millennial pink and rose gold ears, we’re told, are very popular).
There was no official “ears announcement,” but pictures of the rainbow headwear, officially called the “Mickey Mouse Rainbow Love,” began appearing on social media in recent weeks.

Leftists are, of course, pretty psyched about the development, and eager to get their hands on some rainbow Mickey ears. Huffington Post even called the hats a “dream come true.” The Disney company has never officially sanctioned same-sex couplings in its park before, or come out in support of same-sex marriage, but the park does allow same-sex wedding ceremonies and proposals. It also plays host to an unofficial Pride event called “gay days” in the spring.
Unfortunately, the hats are sold only in the park (for around $18 without embroidery), and not on Disney’s “Shop the Parks” website.
