Did The Obama Administration Cover Up North Korea’s Mini-Nuke?

   DailyWire.com

Nobody obtains the bomb overnight. The North Korean nuclear crisis has been a long time coming, as successive presidents have kicked the can down the road. While President Bill Clinton struck a farcical “deal” with North Korea to “freeze and then dismantle its nuclear program,” it was the next Democratic politician to assume office, President Obama, who ignored dire warnings about the nuclear threat.

According to PJ Media’s Debra Heine, Obama even attempted to downplay intelligence assessments suggesting that North Korea had found a way to construct miniaturized nuclear weapons perfect for mounting on missiles as warheads.

“In 2013, Obama not only downplayed the Defense Intelligence Agency’s intelligence report about Korea’s mini nukes — He attempted to discredit it,” reports Heine.”The White House media echo-chamber was — as always — happy to go along with the ruse.”

Citing security expert Via Fred Fleitz, president for policy and programs with the Center for Security Policy at Fox News, Heine points out that The Washington Post’s recent bombshell report about North Korean nuclear capabilities leaves out the fact that the DIA not only knew about the the regime’s advanced capabilities in 2013 but conveyed that information to President Obama, who failed to even take the intelligence assessment seriously.

Four years later, the North Korean threat has come knocking on President Trump’s door.

But as leftist handwringers condemn Trump as a warmonger, the president is attempting to correct for his predecessor’s grave errors and address the North Korean threat with the seriousness it deserves before it’s too late.

Notably, Trump actually publicized reports about North Korea’s nuke program, despite the fact that the information cited in the report was leaked by his own national security staff. Indeed, Trump’s embrace of the leaked information has led many to believe that the leaks were provided with the president’s knowledge as part of a larger campaign to shine the spotlight on the rogue regime.

It may have been “an authorized disclosure of classified information to advance President Trump’s North Korea strategy,” claims Fleitz.

In other words, Trump is refusing to kick the can down the road and taking an unprecedented stance against what our intelligence community has deemed to be an imminent threat against the U.S. and its allies in the Pacific.
