Popular podcast host Joe Rogan on Sunday announced that he’s joined social media platform GETTR, a competitor of Twitter that promises to adhere to free speech principles.
“Join me on GETTR,” Rogan tweeted out to his millions of followers.

On GETTR, the host suggested his move to newer website was predicated by recent censorship from Twitter. “Just in case s*** over at Twitter gets even dumber, I’m here now as well. Rejoice!” he posted.
The announcement from Rogan, who has a stunning 7.8 million followers on Twitter, sparked his name to trend Sunday afternoon and evening for hours.
“Did Joe Rogan just end Twitter?” Marc Lobliner posted, generating more than 20,000 “likes” in a matter of hours.

As highlighted by Fox News, Twitter last week “banned Dr. Robert Malone days before he appeared on Rogan’s podcast to discuss the government response to the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines. Malone, a contributor to mRNA vaccine technology, also opened a GETTR account.”
Additionally, on the same day Rogan made his announcement about GETTR, Twitter permanently banned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for allegedly sharing vaccine “misinformation,” The Daily Wire reported.
Twitter confirmed the ban in a statement sent to The Hill: “We permanently suspended the account you referenced (@mtgreenee) for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy. We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy.”
On other social media platforms, like Telegram, Greene responded by highlighting Twitter’s inconsistent rules.
“Maxine Waters can go to the streets and threaten violence on Twitter, Kamala and Ilhan can bail out Black Lives Matter terrorists on Twitter, CNN and the rest of the Democrat Propaganda Media can spread Russia collusion lies, and just yesterday the Chief spokesman for terrorist IRGC can tweet mourning Soleimani, but I get suspended for tweeting VAERS statistics,” the representative posted. “Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth.”
As noted by Fox Business, former Trump adviser Jason Miller launched GETTR in the summer as a platform “independent from social media monopolies, independent from cancel culture; embracing free speech.”
“It’s been nothing short of phenomenal,” Miller said of the platform’s quick success, according to Fox Business. “It’s the fastest-ever social media platform to reach 1 million users – which we were able to do just three days after launch.”
“The platform is growing, and it’s really exciting when you look at some of these different platforms, just how long it took them to reach 1 million users,” he continued, “noting Facebook reached its 1 million user goal within its first year, and Twitter did not reach 1 million users until nearly 24 months after its launch,” the report added.
“It took us three days,” Miller boasted. “I think what this shows is just the appetite that is there for a platform that doesn’t censor for political beliefs.”
Miller on Sunday was sure to promote GETTR’s huge get in Rogan:
