On Wednesday, the hard-Left anti-war group CodePink, delighted to chime in while students across the country ditched school to march for gun control, issued a tweet that would be nasty enough normally, but was especially despicable in the wake of the Parkland, Florida shooting they referenced:
What made the tweet so contemptible was this: CodePink attacked JROTC; but three JROTC students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School died in the Valentine’s Day attack, and one of them died helping other students to escape when the shooting started. Peter Wang, 15, Alaina Petty, 14, and Martin Duque Anguiano, 13, all died on that day. According to eyewitnesses Wang was last seen holding the door open to allow his fellow students to escape.
CodePink’s hatred of the NRA is nothing new; after the Sandy Hook massacre in December 2012, the NRA held a press conference. CodePink member Tighe Barry held up a giant pink sign that read “NRA is killing our children!” and yelled, “The violence begins with the NRA!” CodePink co-founder Medea Benjamin shouted, “The NRA has blood on its hands!” before she was removed.
