<p>The deportations of illegal immigrants have dropped up to 90% since President Joe Biden has been in office, according to a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies.</p>
<p>The report, based on information obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request, revealed the number of illegal immigrants deported from January 21 to July 9, 2021, was 90% lower than the same period in 2019, the last year prior to the pandemic.</p>
<p>&#8220;Immigration enforcement, as measured by the number of aliens removed from the country, has collapsed to the lowest level since the mid-1990s, according to ICE deportation records the Center has obtained. Under policies imposed by the Biden administration, removals dropped by 80 percent since last year’s low point during the pandemic lockdown, and by 90 percent since 2019, the last normal year for ICE operations,&#8221; Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, said in the <a href="https://cis.org/Report/Deportations-Plummet-Under-Biden-Enforcement-Policies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>.</p>
<p>A special concern noted in the report also included the significant drop in the number of deportations of illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes.</p>
<p>&#8220;The number of aliens removed who had serious criminal convictions also has declined by over 50 percent from 2020 and by 65 percent since 2019,&#8221; the report observed.</p>
<p>The report also concluded the Biden administration&#8217;s policies have &#8220;hobbled&#8221; immigration enforcement.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Biden policies appear to have been adopted with the goal of hobbling immigration enforcement, not enhancing public safety or ensuring the integrity of immigration laws or even making better use of government resources,&#8221; Vaughan concluded.</p>
<p>As The Daily Wire <a href="https://editorial.dailywire.com/news/migrants-from-106-countries-crossed-southern-border-in-del-rio-sector-in-2021/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously reported</a>, many border areas have faced enormous challenges under the Biden administration&#8217;s immigration policies. Migrants from 106 countries have crossed the southern border of the U.S. in Fiscal Year 2021 just in the Del Rio Sector of Texas as the border crisis continues to grow in both numbers and diversity.</p>
<p>A <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/local-media-release/del-rio-sector-encountering-migrants-around-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">media release</a> from U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Wednesday documented the accounts of migrants recently apprehended from a wide variety of nations far beyond Mexico and Central America.</p>
<p>&#8220;Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector’s Eagle Pass Station arrested six Eritrean nationals after they illegally entered the United States, Nov. 23-27,&#8221; the report stated.</p>
<p>In addition, Del Rio Sector agents apprehended migrants during the same period that included two men from Syria, one man from Lebanon, and one man from Tajikistan.</p>
<p>“We encounter individuals from all over the world attempting to illegally enter our country,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens said. “Our agents are focused and work hard to ensure that we detect, arrest, and identify anyone that enters our country in order to maintain safety of our communities.”</p>
<p>The past Fiscal Year, covering October 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021, included encounters in the Del Rio Sector from 106 countries, according to the media release.</p>
<p>In October, a total of 28,111 undocumented migrants from 50 countries were reported in the sector.</p>
<p>The Del Rio Sector currently continues to experience more than 1,000 encounters per day, according to Owens.</p>

<p>The Del Rio Sector drew the attention of the nation in September when up to 14,000 mostly Haitian migrants gathered under the Del Rio International Bridge after crossing the Rio Grande River.</p>
