Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) promoted the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement on Thursday which is designed to destroy Israel.
Tlaib retweeted a tweet from a far-left Democrat activist that goes by the name “Rasha” on Twitter. The tweet stated: “We are connected in radical love. And we have a duty and a privilege in this position to protect not the most popular amongst us, but the most vulnerable amongst us. @thrasherxy on #Palestine and #BDS”
The tweet featured a video of NYU commencement speaker Steven William Thrasher who promoted the anti-Semitic movement at the school’s graduation this month.
“I am so proud, so proud, of NYU’s chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voices for Peace,” Thrasher said, “for supporting the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement against the apartheid state government in Israel.”
The Washington Free Beacon reported that “the BDS movement targets Israeli organizations and companies doing business in Israel in an effort to weaken Israel economically and politically, forcing the Israeli government to change its policies. Israel is not an apartheid state.”
This is just the most recent example of Tlaib expressing her hatred for the State of Israel, which Democrats no longer push back against, as she recently engaged in Holocaust revisionist history to delegitimize Israel which came in the context of her discussing a one-state solution which calls for the elimination of Israel. Tlaib said:
There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports. And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.
Historian Benny Morris wrote in The Atlantic that Tlaib “deployed deliberately imprecise language, misleading her listeners about the early history of the conflict in Palestine and misrepresenting its present and possible future.”
“I think she perfectly well understands the actual history here. But the revisionist history here serves anti-semitic goal Israel is illegitimate and ought to be abolished. She’s a supporter of the ‘Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions’ movement,” Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro said on Fox News in response to Tlaib’s anti-Semitic comments. “She suggested if you are a supporter of Israel you are guilty of dual loyalty in the past. She along with Ilhan Omar is part of an anti-Semitic contingent of the Democratic Party now being protected by the Democratic leadership.”
Tlaib later claimed that people were “twisting” her words, which is not true.
“It’s pretty fascinating to call for one-state solution that effectively means the end of the state of Israel which she knows which is why she is pushing for it,” Shapiro added.
