Daily Wire host and author Michael Knowles ripped “squish” conservatives on Tuesday over apparent support for crossdressing YouTuber Jeffree Star (real name Jeffrey Steininger) for knocking “non-binary” pronouns on a recent podcast.
Star, an openly gay makeup artist who dresses like a woman, said last week on the podcast “Bussin’ With the Boys” that the preferred use of “they/them” pronouns is nonsense, but recognized transgender people who are either male or female. The comments went viral online and earned praise in some conservative circles — which is where Knowles took issue.
“A number of conservative — fairly prominent conservatives — are lauding [Star] for saying, enough is enough with the non-binary ‘they/them’ gender pronouns,” Knowles said incredulously. “All I can think is: this is how conservatives always lose.”
“This is the new line, this is the new Overton window of acceptable political discourse in 2023,” the host continued, before mocking, “The line is: transgenderism is fine, but non-binary is crazy! Yeah, you tell ’em, Jeffree! Democrats, they’re the real transphobes!”
Star told NFL player Taylor Lewan about non-binary preferred pronouns, “You’re not ‘they’ and ‘them.’ You’re trans, you’re male or you’re female.”
“‘They’ and ‘them’ and all that extra s*** that we added during the pandemic because everyone is so bored in their f***ing houses they just started to make up more s***.”
“That’s why the conservatives like me, cause I’m just real,” he added.
“How are you a ‘they?’ What the f*** does that mean? It’s stupid is what it is,” the YouTuber said. “But you need someone like me that looks like me to say it. Because if you say it, it turns into, ‘You’re homophobic, you hate trans people, you hate gays,’ and it’s just how you feel. You don’t hate anyone, you just think it’s stupid.”

Knowles went on to outline a pattern with conservatives acquiescing to the Left and losing massive ground with vital cultural issues.
Within the last 10 years, conservatives folded on the issue of gay marriage, but maintained the transgender agenda was “crazy,” the host outlined. “And now, in the year of our Lord 2023, conservatives are saying — you know it — ‘okay, transgenderism is fine, but this non-binary stuff is crazy!’ They’re saying, ‘transgenderism is fine, but wait until they turn 18 to chop them up!'”

Knowles later noted that Star has already backed down from some of his comments, too, underscoring his point.
Star in a video posted online emphasized that he doesn’t believe “non-binary” people “don’t exist.”
