Country star Chris Stapleton had bad news for fans after announcing that Thursday’s concert in Syracuse, New York, was postponed due to the smoke-filled skies from the wildfires raging in Canada.
The 45-year-old singer tweeted on Wednesday that the “All American Road Show” stop for June 8 was being rescheduled.
“Due to the ongoing air conditions in the greater Syracuse area, tomorrow night’s show at [StJosephsAmp] will be rescheduled,” Stapleton tweeted.

“All previously purchased tickets for the original date will be honored for the new date,” he added. “We expect to have an update by mid-day June 9th. – Team CS.”
Looking on the “Broken Halos” hitmaker’s website, there was no further information or an indication of whether other dates on the tour would be affected.
The move comes after smoke from hundreds of wildfires raging in Nova Scotia and Quebec since June 2 has reached major U.S. cities across a large portion of the country, including Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, North Carolina.
The next two shows on his website are scheduled for June 9 and June 10 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Stapleton fans weren’t the only ones affected by the smoke-filled air. Broadway fans looking forward to seeing Jodie Comer in her one-woman Broadway show “Prima Facie” on Wednesday night were left disappointed after the star said she couldn’t breathe in the hazardous air.

Audience members said the play, which is about a lawyer who defends men accused of sexual assault and is later assaulted herself, had barely begun when the Tony Award-winning performer stopped, coughed, and said, “I can’t breathe this air” before being helped off the stage, The Daily Mail reported.
One attendee said the show went on with Comer’s understudy, Dani Arlington. Many audience members left and received refunds, but others stayed and gave Arlington a standing ovation at the end of her performance.
