Country singer Jake Flint has died only hours after he and his bride finally walked down the aisle on Saturday. He was 37.

In a message shared on social media on Sunday, the singer’s manager Brenda Cline wrote that, “With a broken heart and in deep grief I must announce that Jake Flint has tragically passed away,” according to the New York Post in a piece published Tuesday.

“I’ve tried several times today to make a post, but you can’t comment on what you can’t process,” Cline added. “I loved him much like a son. The funniest, most hilarious, hardest working, dedicated artist I have ever worked with in my career. We were just about to embark on some business together after he and Brenda got married — which was yesterday. Yes, yesterday.”

“Jake has a million friends and I’m not sure how everyone will cope with this tragic loss,” Cline continued. “We need prayers — it’s all so surreal. Please, please pray for his new wife Brenda, Jake’s precious mother, his sister and the rest of his family and friends. This is going to be incredibly difficult for so many. We love you Jake and in our hearts forever.”

At the time of this publication, a cause of death was unknown. However, according The Oklahoman, Flint died Saturday night in his sleep.

His widow, Brenda Flint, shared a heartbreaking post on social media on Sunday, writing simply, “I don’t understand.” In the clip, she and Flint appear to be taking wedding photos and dancing around.

“We should be going through wedding photos but instead I have to pick out clothes to bury my husband in,” a follow-up post on Tuesday read. “People aren’t meant to feel this much pain. My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back. I can’t take much more. I need him here.”

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1985, his manager said she had big plans for singer/songwriter’s career with a string of shows planned in Oklahoma and Arkansas, the outlet noted.

Flint is probably best known for such songs as the “Long Road Back Home,” “What’s Your Name?” and “Hurry Up and Wait.”
