Country singer Hardy provided an update for fans following a tour bus crash he was involved in, urging them to pray for the driver, who is still in the hospital.
The 32-year-old singer-songwriter explained in a social media post that they got into an accident on their way home from Bristol, Tennessee, near Nashville. Hardy, whose full name is Michael Thomas Hardy, shared that four people were on the bus and that all were “treated for significant injuries.”
He went on to say that while he was released, the driver was still under the hospital’s care.
“Our friend and bus driver needs your prayers as he is still in the hospital,” Hardy said. “His family is with him while he is being treated and we’re all pulling and praying for him.”
As for the status of his current tour, the country star noted how he was “ordered by the doctors to recover for the next few weeks” and would update fans “in the coming days” about what that means for upcoming concerts being rescheduled.
“Please keep our road family in your prayers and I promise to keep you updated in the days to follow,” Hardy concluded in the statement. “God bless our medics and local and state officials for their quick response and incredible service.”
In another post shared on his Instagram Story, Hardy posted a photograph of himself with his fiancée, Caleigh Ryan, and offered reassurance for worried friends and fans.
“Thank you for all the texts and calls. I’m alive and that’s all that matters,” he wrote alongside the image, per People. “I love you all.”
The singer was scheduled to play several shows through December, with a kickoff in Arlington, Texas, on October 8 alongside his friend Morgan Wallen.
Hardy co-wrote the song “Up Down,” featuring Wallen and Florida Georgia Line. The musician also co-wrote Florida Georgia Line’s singles “Simple” and “Talk You Out of It,” Blake Shelton’s singles “God’s Country” and “Hell Right,” Dallas Smith’s “Drop,” Chris Lane’s single “I Don’t Know About You,” and “Some Girls” from Jameson Rodgers.
The Nashville-based singer has also released his own hits, including “One Beer” and “Beers On Me,” in collaboration with Dierks Bentley and Breland.
