Hillary Clinton’s private email system contained information about recently executed Iranian nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri, said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) on Sunday. Amiri was executed by the Iranian regime for treason. Accused of “giving vital information to the enemy,” Amiri was said to have colluded with the US.
Joining CBS’s Face The Nation for an interview with John Dickerson, Cotton connected Clinton’s email conduct with the execution.
You mentioned the Iranian scientist that was recently executed. Of course I’m not going to comment on what he may or may not have done for the United States government. But, in the emails that were on Hillary Clinton’s private server, there were conversations among her senior advisers about this gentleman. That goes to show just how reckless and careless her decision was to put that kind of highly classified information on a private server. I think her judgment is not suited to keep this country safe.
Amiri disappeared from Saudi Arabia in May or June of 2009, reappearing about a year later in Washington, D.C. He claimed to have been abducted by the CIA and coerced to cooperate with the agency. He returned to Iran in July of 2010 after requesting to do so. He was then arrested in May of 2011 and tried for treason. He was reportedly executed days ago.
CBS and other left-wing news outlets continually refuse to ask or explain why Clinton’s conduct was a self-admitted “mistake.” In an effort to preserve a pretense of objectivity, such news outlets occasionally examine the inconsistencies of Clinton’s statements. They ignore, however, is any analysis of the importance of the former Secretary of State’s conduct and her likely motivations.
