Political Power is not linear. There is a reason we use the term election cycles.
The purpose of a political party is to win elections, but the purpose of a political movement is to exert power. These two things are often at odds. Movements can and do gain power through electoral defeat, and an opportunity to do so is at hand for the New Right conservative movement, but how should this hand be played?
