Kim Kardashian got emotional and broke down in tears as she talked about how “really f***ing hard” co-parenting her four children with her ex-Kanye West is, admitting that kids need two parents just like she had.
During the 42-year-old reality star’s appearance on the “Angie Martinez IRL Podcast,” the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” alum said she wants her kids to have the same childhood she did and emphasized how important it is to have their dad as part of their lives.
“I had the best dad,” Kardashian explained, as she started to get choked up. “It’s hard. S**t like co-parenting, it’s really f***ing hard.”
“But I had the best dad,” she added again, through the tears. “And I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them.”

“So, if they don’t know things that are being said, or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” Kardashian continued. “That’s real heavy, heavy grown-up s***. But they’re not ready to deal with it, and when they are, we’ll have those conversations … and I’ll be so prepared. But until then, I’ll do anything to keep their lives as normal as possible.”
At one point, the reality TV star talked about how she attempts to protect her kids from the world and what’s being said about their father, the 45-year-old rapper, following his anti-Semitic comments.
“I definitely protected him [West], and I still will in the eyes of my kids, for my kids,” Kardashian explained. “So, in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on on the outside world. I’m holding on by a thread, I know I’m so close to [them becoming aware], but while it’s still that way, I will protect that to the end of the earth as long as I can.”
The reality star said all the kids but North aren’t on social media, and even then she said her and West’s 9-year-old has a TikTok account on Kardashian’s phone alone. “They’re just not on social media. They don’t see stuff.”
Kardashian and West divorced in 2022 after nearly seven years of marriage. The two share four kids together.
